Oh my god, the final Chaos Emerald, the red one, that one is a pain in the butt, I have been struggling to get it. Not only do you have to control your speed, you have to make sure you have plenty of rings, not fall off or get hit. These special stages are insanely hard. Seriously though, how are new players going to be able to beat them, it's almost impossible.

Flying Battery Act 1 looks like one of the fastest routes for special stage farming. Just play as Tails and start flying upwards to the right when you exit the first big cylinder and you can reach the ring in less than 10 seconds.

I don't know how, but special stages in Encore Mode have been easier for me than the Mania Mode ones. Heck, the fourth Mania Emerald was the HARDEST in my gameplay, but I got the fourth Encore Emerald in my FIRST TRY EVER!

Mania mode imo, Encore IS good If you want to play mania mode with different color palletes on levels and want to ramp up the difficult a bit. The thing that kills Encore mode to me IS How brutal some of the special stages are, which are supposed to because old Sonic games had merciless special stages (the WORST one was definetely the Sonic 2 one, It expected you to react to shit you couldnt even see at First) but this doesnt feel rewarding AT ALL, the special rings where relocated and some of them requires you to have an specific character to reach them, and special stages 1, 2 and 7 are so fucking stressful, they drag out and makes you lose thanks to the drifting when you reach mach 3, not to mention you're forced to play in a specific way and not lose the Ufo the moment you start the stage otherwise no Matter How fast you go, you wont have a chance to grab the emerald, The mania version is definetely easier, but feels more rewarding, Encore mode special stages feels like you're being tortured
