Why do people use the title first gen when these are 3rd gen? First 1961-65 Second 1965-71 Third 1972-93! I would have done everything you've done so far! I have a 1978 D-150 that almost caught on fire! I snatched all of the wiring from under the hood and rewired it. New everything electrical! When I snatch the engine and transmission out next year... I'll most likely take everything off the frame! These trucks are super easy to work on!

I thought the same thing. But, my 79 W150 was “My” first Gen (first truck). It will always be special to me. I’d love to get another one. Someday…….. I’ve got a few projects going on now, so I really enjoyed watching this video regardless what generation it is/ was.

Hey, sorry I just saw this comment! It was actually from Summit Racing for roughly $170, they also had an option with lights like the old Lund Visors for a little more, pretty reasonable for a good look!

Because the front clip was all rusty and I wanted to freshen everything up! Also went from an Auto 727 to an Np435 so steering columns, t cases, plenty of things changed!

You people need to learn what Gen you have. The body line is different between 1st Gen and 2nd Gen .1974 to 1980 is 1st Gen and from 1981 to 1993 is 2nd Gen in the USA and to 1995 in Canada. Learn it .and I know that for sure because I worked on them for the time they were new so your truck is a 2nd Gen

I mean... if you want to get technical wouldn't the first generation of dodge trucks be in the 1930s or so? So we're actually on like the 15th generation if starting from the beginning of production? The best part about your irrelevant, overconfident comment is if you simply Google first gen dodge you'll immediately see everything referencing the 1981-1993 Dodge Trucks which were literally named the first gens 😉 So maybe YOU people should take a moment and relax, hopefully the best part of your day isn't being a keyboard warrior fighting over misinformation! I only refer to ramcharger s and trailduster as first gen. I have a 76 td first gen top comes off just bought two w200 power wagons à 78 and à 79
