"If you want to get laid, go to college. If you want an education, go to the library" -Frank Zappa An "official degree" is not a guarantee or proof of intelligence. Frank Zappa was one of the smartest men of the century without a doubt.

barbara ringwalt Most people would love Frank if they met the guy. He's the best example of human honesty combined with wild creativity I can think of. Neil Young is second. Just my idiot opinion.

The PMRC was borne out of jealousy, jealous that their kids were being reached/raised/taught by Musicians and not them, thrusting a dismissive $20 into their kids hands rather than nourish them into minds that could discern for themselves then fuming at the distance created, well held Frank sir well held

I love how he has all these disclaimers and footnote kind of things at the start of his speech, it sounds all technical then after that's out of the way he immediately calls the plan an ill-conceived piece of nonsense. Funny shift in tone.

Zappa was that way. He wasnt shy bout saying what he truly felt. But here he kept it relatively professional.

Frank Zappa happened to be a genius, he had proposed the idea of direct digital transfer of media through phone lines in 1986, which may sound familiar if you happen to use something called the itunes store. Watch a few more of his interviews before you judge the guy, he was brilliant.

Thank you for posting this. I'm from Canada and was born in the late 70's so I missed out on the original broadcasting of this. I think Frank was brilliant in pointing out the courts/governments hypocrasy and appreciated his music for not just the sillyness of the lyrics but some of the complexity.

I'm a plumber; The theory of relativity states that measurements are affected by the velocity of the observer, and that space and time must be considered together because the Earth is constantly in motion as it turns on its axis and orbits through space , which causes a dilation of time, so we use the non variable speed of light as a constant because it's the same for anyone who observes it anywhere. I also fix heaters/AC's and install bathroom fixtures at competitive rates.
