I love using Holst Supersoft. I usually order mine directly from Holst as there's no local stockist. Despite having to order it directly, the shipping to the US is fairly minimal for multiple balls at once, so it still keeps it super affordable. I love that you're doing these short videos- I hope it inspires others to try it and fall in love too!

I really enjoy your regular videos, but when this series showed up randomly on my KZbin feed I was like "oh, I've seen a lot of people using that, I should watch and learn more about this yarn... and why it would need its own video!" This was a GREAT series! I feel like I learned a ton as an advanced beginner just starting to explore "nicer" yarns, fiber festivals, etc. I really enjoyed seeing your process through the "practical" steps of a process - swatching, seeing the difference in the fabric pre/post blocking, dealing with dye coming out of the project, washing, etc - SO HELPFUL and really very fun to watch! If you have any inclination to do other similar videos I would love to see them! Thank you for your awesome content ALWAYS! :)

Venetian is a stunning color. Using it not in a Vertices Unite shawl by Stephen West. After watching your video, I plan to buy lots more Holst. Great job you did. Thanks so much.

I'm using Holst Supersoft for the first time for my Rose and my Yule from The Vintage Shetland Project. I also purchased their color cards, and I'm so glad I did! I think I will be using it a fair bit from now on.

Needless to say I'm super stoked to find out that Holst is a good brand to buy from! I just love SuperSoft and really don't mind the spinning oil at all. It may not be the best thing for the skin (I guess) but it smells nice to my nose haha

Hello Anoushka, I recently found your video's on KZbin and subscribed to your channel :-) Thank you for all this information about this yarn. This yarn is new to me but I plan to try it in my next project. With the excess dye in it, is it safe to knit colourwork? Does the colours not blend into each other? Have a nice day, keep it cool during these tropical days. Stay safe. Best wishes from Belgium.

I'm not a big colour work knitter, but you could try using a "colour catcher" whilst washing to absorb excess dye

@@TheCrimsonStitchery And what is a 'colour catcher'? Do you mean something like vinegar? Have a nice day and keep cool.

@@thepiaknits Colour catchers look like dryer sheets and can be found in some laundry aisles. I found mine at London Drugs in B.C., Canada. You could probably find them on Amazon or something like that.

I've never heard of Holst before and was very intrigued after watching your videos. However, I was a little (read: very) disappointed after visiting their website. The prices are nowhere near what you stated. Now, I get that the video is over a year old, but surely they haven't increased their prices in the past 16 months this much? A ball of 50g comes to about 3 EUR, a cone of 500g is about 25 EUR, which makes it only about 15% savings, not 50%. Did you notice that price spike as well or did you quote Black Friday prices? My point is, if you're going for Holst because of budget (the knitting when you're broke video is where I heard of Holst first), then you can buy for that same price from Ice Yarns. The Superwash Merino (100% Merino wool), to give just one example, runs for 3.11 EUR over there and is available in a ton of colors. And you don't have to go through all this work with washing out the oil. Don't mean to be rude or anything and I hope you don't take it the wrong way. I just love 100% wool and crochet A LOT, so when watching your video I thought I had hit jackpot and was mentally shopping all their cones in all the colors already, only to be disappointed. Until I find a better alternative, I'll stick to Ice Yarns.

Hello, I'm a crocheter and knitter from Italy. I bought Ice Yarns several times and found it good to work with and cheap too: the shipping and handling fee is high, though. On a shopping cart of more or less 20 euros, I had to double the money for shipping. So...more or less is the same price :)

When she said the price in the video she was talking in £ not in euros, so 2,5£ could be around 3€ as you said. It's true that buying a cone is not half the price and it was not when she made the video, but from time to time they have offers in cone, I have seen one for 19€ now and last month I bought 50 g balls on sale and it was less than 18€ for 500 g. About Iceyarns, I don't know about your countey but they have raised shipping to my country and added a "custom fee" that "they make arrive to the custom authorities in my country". What I knew before is that there is commercial agreement between Turkey and UE so no custom fee for yarn. I searched the custom duties with Turkey and you don't have to pay for yarn so that part smell like scam to me so I won't be buying from Iceyarn for now.

@@b.m.6457 Oh, I see. I just assumed Euros, don't know why. Thank you for clearing that up. As for Iceyarns - I've been ordering from them for a few years now with no problem. And they've always added both Shipping&Handling plus a custom fee (I live in Germany). It might be true that the shipping costs are a bit higher now. But I know what amount per 100 g I need to add to the price before I decide whether it's worth it to me. Most of the time it is.
