These watches are expensive I expected to see a movement with rubies thank you for your demonstration for the partial autopsy of this watch .

These take a 395 battery if anyone is curious.

Is there a part 2? Can't seem to find it. Interested in seeing the hands pulled and the movement replaced.

I lol'd when I saw the battery was missing. Reminded me of one time I was called into a meeting room to fix a malfunctioning TV for a bunch of bigwigs in the middle of a meeting, just to show them that they had forgotten to plug the TV in.

A $20 movement for a watch that retails for 500 bucks.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised. Took mine into a watch repair shop, guy told me it needs a new movement, wanted to charge me $150. I Said "No, that's OK." Took it home, bought one online for $23, another shop put it in for $25.

Watches Galore Oh yeah, thanks bro. Found movement that is specific for luminox for tube clearance on hands. $29, so should have about $60 into the watch.

I just had a new wenger with a 515 ronda mysteriously die. Tried a new battery but no luck. I'm thinking its not the most reliable movement.
@RandomRobReviews7 жыл бұрын
Anonymous Hit and miss. Movement is cheap for standard 515. The Luminox is $30 cause of the taller hand shaft to clear the tritium tubes. If you want to send the watch I can try and make repair? Or take to local watch guy and get it fixed.

Yeah, I had a Victorinox Renegade with a 515 that experienced a complete failure after ten years of service. I don't consider them anything but a disposable watch.
@MacPro8CoreMan6 жыл бұрын
I have several watches with Ronda 515 over the years and have not one failure. All of mine are manufactured in Switzerland instead of parts unknown. By directly from Ronda and specify Swiss Made. Also the big watch parts online companies will understand the Swiss Made difference as well. The Ronda 715 is a direct replacement and gives you 1.5 to 2 extra years of battery life. I highly recommend sourcing the brand of battery that Ronda recommends... There is a difference!

Can you undo some of those screws and see if there is something obvious like a broken wire or connection that could be soldered?

Probably a dead coil. I have a Series 7050 that died on December 25th, 2019 and I've read that is a likely problem. If you have the right tools, replacing the coil is cheaper and easier than replacing the movement. But I may go your route and see about replacing the movement on mine.

I have a traser code blue, I think it's the Swiss quartz ronda 715, it takes a Renata 371

I have a dead luminox I'm going to have to change the movement. It looks to be the same watches just green. It dead in the packaging Still has the plastic on it. I replaced the battery and nothing happened. Do you happen to know exactly what movement that is I see there's A 515 on mine but I think it takes the taller one than standard. I didn't completely disassemble the watch to measure it yet.
@RandomRobReviews5 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I forget the exact number but ordered from esslinger. They had a Ronda 515 listed for luminox

@garth32366 жыл бұрын
Quartz movements are not usually serviceable, this one isn't. Buy a new movement & fit that to fix your watch. Just make sure you get the correct pinion height for the hands, as they have to clear the tubes (obviously).

Not sure if just that part can be bought or repaired. The entire movement from essljnger is not very expensive
@westleylarsen1954 жыл бұрын
@@RandomRobReviews all of them are 515s right? My first number is scratched, I assume it's a 5. Also the yellow plastic piece belongs under that battery post correct?

I bought one second hand got a decent deal on it they said it needed a battery,, so I opened it and I realize the battery hold down tab is missing any idea how or where I can get one.. without sending it to Luminox???

A small piece of aluminum foil will work, all it needs is to make a connection in order to operate.

just drop it once more. Won't hurt anything.

It seems to me you would’ve put a battery in it just to see if that was the issue. I don’t know if you’ve tried that but it seems that if you did you would’ve put it in this video, just to see if the movement works with a battery installed. Because buying a new movement without checking to see if the battery was the issue would cost you more money, but your video doesn’t show you doing that!!! 🥴🧐
@Mark-sd7fc7 жыл бұрын
I bet your son would think that this is a cool watch give him first dibs , or maybe fix it and give it to one of your cool subscribers who loves tritium tubes! I think I know just the guy 🤔 lol

Who the hell sells a broken watch? Or better yet who buys one?😂😂
@viawilderness2 жыл бұрын
People can recoup alot of money by selling broken watches, especially higher end watches. People profit off of buying them and repairing/reselling. The better question is why would you throw one away?? A broken Luminox is atleast a twenty dollar bill
