Nice collection. I've just restarted stamp collecting now that I'm semi-retired and am finding it very addictive as I learn more about the subject. Trying to get some Victorian stamps at the moment.

Not a bad collection in this Volume 1. Missing most of the High Value stamps. Noted the 2d blue is not the 1840 one (the one shown has the white line above the value tablet. I have seen a top complete (ultra-expensive) GB collection (including the £5 orange stamp). Obtaining scarce GB stamps these days is almost impossible unless you are extremely wealthy, wheres 20 - 30 years ago by judicious purchases over a number of years you could build up a top display. Stamps in less than perfect condition are much cheaper (or should be if you are sensible). Later items - King George V! and Queen Elizabeth 11 era items are readily available at competitive prices. from dealers, or better still, through stamp clubs. It is more satisfying to save up for the better items than to splurge on handfuls of the common ones. A different style of collecting is to accumulate the stamps "on cover", which is a far greater challenge. Good luck with your stamp collecting.
