I joined this ship in 1964 as 5th engineer. Fifteen month trip, great times and unforgettable adventures. So many countries and ports.

Great video. I joined SS&A in 1971 (Eng/Cdt) and remember seeing various Bank Line ships around the globe. I recall sailing with a great Jnr Eng from Lancashire who left the Darro and joined Bank Line as a 5/E in around 1974. He had some incredible trips with them up all sorts of rivers in God knows where. Happy Days!

@@markbeale7390 Thanks Mark nice to hear of an ex Bank line man the one thing I hated about bank line other than B articles was Curry every lunchtime and I hate it I liked the Asian crews and the Calcutta Crews very much but do not like spicy food. Brian then moved on to UASC where I stayed for 12 years and no regrets. Brian

Great footage from those great days. My old ship Antrim at 5,32 berthed at St Denis. I was on her then. This would be between Dec 10 to Dec 18 1971.Went over to Minchbank for a few drinks when we where both anchored off Tuleur, Madagascar. Someone new someone i think. Cheers Dave

A company I wish I had joined instead of the BS of Clan Line (not to mention the Filth & Human Misery of India) Happiest days were in Tramp Ships - just wish I could do it all again !
