sir, in this video you say that maximum c/c distance between two column should not exceed 18',and after that you design 21' c/c column distance,.how this design match the minimum criteria??please explain...

Based on my understanding, the major - minor axis & width & depth has been denoted wrongly. The major axis of bending moment will along the larger span as M (bending Moment) ∝ D (distance). To counter the larger bending moment we need larger moment of inertia. We can achieve this by aligning the shorter side (i.e. the depth) perpendicular to the major axis. We denote shorter side as depth and longer side as width. Pls correct me if i am wrong or missing any point. :)

The larger the distance from the Neutral axis to the extreme fiber, more the moment of inertia and that axis will me major axis. Depth: larger dimension Width: smaller dimension Please note that Mz moment denotes the moment about Z axis ( not along Z axis). I hope you got the point…
