PART 1 - ROAD-TRIP TO DARWIN - This is QLD to the NT Border!

We have spent the past nine months zig zagging our way around Queensland, so we’ve decided to make our way to the Northern Territory!
Follow us while we check out some epic free camps and try our luck for another Barra in the tinny!
We find a couple of MUST VISIT camping spots! Be blown away by the hidden gem at Gum Tree Lodge Bush Camp in Howard, picture a happy days diner, hot rods that blow your mind and your very own Van Deck!
Plus the Grey Nomads best kept fishing town secret at Groper Creek Caravan Park, we snagged a heck of a spot here!
We do our first Scuba Dive in the Whitsundays! Bucket list item done ✅
Soaked all our worries away in the outback with a sunset Artesian Bath, whilst enjoying our favourite bubbly and watching the stars come out one by one, pretty romantic huh 😜
Heck we even visit an abandoned mine!

Are you referring to the outdoor kitchen slide? We purchased it through Wonderland directly it’s called the “K4”, unsure of a brand it doesn’t seem to be branded

I love that little veranda that you guys pulled up next to over looking the water. What a great idea! And it was great to see some off roading with the van to the camp sites. Would love to see more of that 👌. Does the van feel to big for that stuff or are you happy with the 21 foot?

Cheers Brad that camp site was a real treat, we had no idea about the diner & hot rods when we got there and absolutely loved seeing them also! Was great to get the big girl off road it’s great to tow and we learnt that we have her stacked properly and had nothing dive out of the cupboards on us when we pulled up, a great sign 😂 We are happy with the length being that it’s our home, we just have more room to feel comfortable when pulled up but if we were just doing the odd trip we would have purchased a smaller van (probably without the bunks), it didn’t feel to big towing through this kind of track the only time we would feel it to large is due to low hanging trees etc to avoid damage to the solar panels & scratches but any off road van would have the same challenge In the event we needed to tackle a more difficult track we would actually prefer to leave the van somewhere safe and do a trip with the swag, we still love getting to those remote places and roughing it a bit 👌🏻

The Dmax has been brilliant we average 18L/100km whilst towing, we’ve done plenty of work to her including the Lovells GCM/GVM upgrade & a remap with the guys at Ultimate Diesel Tuning both of these have been the biggest enhancements for the vehicles performance and capabilities. We’ve also got a video on our channel for all the other extras if you want to check out 🙌🏻
