Thanks for putting the vid together; glad the 40 is working out. I’d be really keen to hear some info on a comparison with how you are now doing things differently compared to the 24, including time taken, more location options, cost differences, what you love, what you miss, change of driving speed, etc. This would be super useful for the many of us out there weighing up whether to go 40 or stick with 24. FYI I’m buying a 24 next week and it’s your fault! 😜 Thanks for all your guidance and encouragement.
@GlynHudson3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. In terms of time taken, the 40 will be faster, but probably not by that much since the rapid charging power is still mostly the same. However, it's slightly more convenient to be able to charge for longer less often rather than lots of short stops, it just gives a bit more flexibility. However, the 24 is still very capable, especially not there are so many rapid charging options compared to when I first got the van. Great to hear your getting an e-nv200! Best of luck

@@sharonbraselton4302 I'm now selling my env and getting a tesla and a tent because the 24 battery has proved extremely hard for summer trips, and impossible for winter trips - I literally can't get between chargers, and there are no 40 batteries available here in New Zealand, and the price of importing one is crazy :-( I'll hopefully get back to an EV van in a couple of years when there might be a secondhand market with something I can afford. The Peugeot e-expert has just arrived but it's $30k more than a tesla and I can't afford it. Ford are also bringing out the e-Transit custom early next year, so hopefully there will be some secondhand ones kicking around in a couple of years.

Nice one Glyn, Happy your bigger battery is working out for you. I am sat charging our model 3 next to a canal on a free charger as my wife has been out in it all day working, and its adding 193 miles per hour. I am also enjoying the fact the A/C can left on while we go for a walk, as my silly springer has been charging about in 28 degrees Celsius for the last half hour. Nothing like combining a dog walk with a free charge. I always appreciate the time and effort you two put into your films, and just so you know, they are a real escape . cheers Ed

Great video, team. So great to see part of the land of some of my ancestors, including Gills of Perth and Edinborough. My only problem is it makes waiting for my BYD T3 EV (very similar to your eNV200) even harder. Originally the first 50 were due in Australia in October, last word was they'd take deposits in October for delivery in December. Not a whisper for the last 2 weeks. Playing part 2 now to cheer me back up. Keep up the great work :)

@@GlynHudson Thanks Glyn, Do you mind me asking why you choose a separate 3rd party cruise control? The reason for the original question is because I’ve noticed it does seem to use more power when on a motorway/dual carriageway and wondered if you had a similar issue. Cheers again. 🤙
@GlynHudson3 жыл бұрын
@@daiwilson412 my van didn't have any cruise control fitted as standard. I've not noticed an increase in energy consumption when using cruise control on the flat, actually the opposite I've found CC makes me drive more efficiently since I don't accidentally find myself driving faster and faster! Obviously, using CC on hilly terrain will use more power since it will try to maintain the same speed up hill and then regen instead of coasting on the downhill.

The 3.3kW model can only charge at 3.3kW from AC which will add 12 miles of range for each hr of charging. The rapid+ can charge at 6.6kw which will add 23 miles of range for each hr of charging. They both DC rapid charge at the same speed (50kW).
