Surah Al Hujurat (49:13) “ And We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes... so that you may know each other.” I have been reflecting of late on this.....why is it that none of our sheikhs and Imaams discuss this ayat from the Holy Quran? It is, as I have thought, of extreme contemporaneous importance given the schisms in our society.... where people do not KNOW each other, are divided into mutually exclusive groups and so, are afraid and suspicious of the OTHER. Where people attack and deride and hate and avoid and demonize .... We refuse to have open discussions and to learn to KNOW each other. If we begin to know each other as Almighty Allah wants us to do, we will reflect, and think and act in ways that will improve on our social relationships and begin to understand each other and appreciate that our differences are what make us as He intended.... rational, thinking human beings. What beautiful creations, each different outwardly, yet the same inside. We should celebrate this instead of using it to divide and cause corruption in the land. So much to be thankful for, so little done to show gratitude.

Six ways to earn even after death 1. Give a copy of Qur'an to someone. Each time one reads from it, you gain. 2. Donate a wheelchair to a hospital. ... 3. Participate in building a masjid. 4. Place watercooler in a public place. 5. Plant a tree. ... 6. And the easiest of all, share this message with people. Ya Allah, let me love You as You deserved to be loved, and let me fear You as You deserve to be feared, and let me leave this world serving Your creation for Your sake. Amin 🤲

Salam alay koum Sheikh. We met once when you visited Liverpool sevral years ago. I was the half Texan, mixed Race Griot @ the Kumba Imaani Centre. I've just discovered your work on KZbin, and I particularly like you ideas, and studies on Islam and the Cultural Imperative. I read it first on the Nawawi Foundation website, finding this talk covering the same subject was an added joy. I have a Phd in Literary Theory and Cultural History, and have been published as a Dr once, after being commisioned by the JMU to write a bunch of articles on Black British Culture, and British Popular Culture, for two encyclopaedias published by Routledge. As such I have a special insight into the way your approaching certain areas of Islamic culture, and I understand more than your average Muslim, what your actually discussing by way of 'cultural hegemony', prejudice, and even racism amongst Muslims. That time you were in Liverpool was during my fall from grace for being Pro-Palestinian, during an extremely Islamophobic Post 9/11 period in Liverpool, when the local Labour party leader was extremely Pro-Zionist. I was suffering from PTS at the Kumba Imaani gig, but managed to get through it medicated. I was aware that I probably came across as a substance abuser, but Allah is the Knower. I have had years of Psi-Ops directed towards me from the local Special Branch, and UK security forces, which only eased up fairly recently, and only once I was out of circulation as a teacher, artist, and community activist. Never the less I learned a lot from that dark period of my Life, mainly how much 'intelligence', as such, is feared by the authorities, if they either can't control it, or benefit from it. We live in troubled times my brother, and your work is a shining ray of light in a misty world of sectarianism, ignorance, and mainstream fear. One of my perosnal hobbies is creating Blues, and Jazz zhikrs, as a continuation of that Muslim Jazz tradition. As I youth I was inspired by Malcolm, the Last Poets, Amiri Baraka, Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, Rashid Ali, Yusuf Lateef, Pharoah Sanders, Don Cherry, and Muhamad Ali. What else did I need, Rumi, Idriss Shah, Inayat Khan, Al Ghazali, Imama Shadhili, and eventually I became Shafi, and then as a Sufi visited Yemen, had my poetry recommended, and blessed by the Blessed Habib Umar, and Habib Ali Jifre, and became Baalawi. Now I "strive to become nothing", as did Rumi. I attend a Naqshabandi Zhikr occasionally, but due to the issues you discuss, I keep to a small circle. Anyway I just wanted you to know that I love your work, and I look forward to watching you on line. JazzakallahuKhair. B-)

Much needed voice.... Your voice is the intellectual version of my Heart's cry, the healing Soul, the Hope. Being an Indian Muslim I analyse how Sufis like Amir Khusro r.a used the things he said. One can see whatever is happening in our country but still the Sufism and the Sufi saints are being respected by even the most venomous majoritarian fanatic leaders.
