Powerful performances by James and Kieron. I congratulate Channel 4 and the Hollyoaks producers in the way they have handled this story. They used the correct terminology although we (I work in the field) no longer use negative we say non-reactive. I am sure they (producers and writers) will continue to handle the storyline well.

Chlamydia - negative. Gonorrhea - negative. Syphilis - negative. And then the final and last result, HIV. The news was such a mind numbing shock, left me bereft of the mental and emotional tools to deal with it. There was panic and fear that day. I must say the guys did a phenomenal job with the subject matter. Loved the close up of Ste hearing his results. It really shows him to be a good actor, I hope in the near future that JP and Ste's life are not always going to be a barrage of issues... Writers--- Let them have some happy times!!!

Even if they break up and Ste has another relationship same thing. There's even a new pill out there that a negative person takes as well as using condoms.

I can't watch this show anymore! ... I'm tired of seeing Ste and John Paul always 'going through something'! .. I wish the writers had given them a little bit more time to 'enjoy' their time together. They already have to deal with Ste addiction recovery, on top of Sinead and the 'baby', plus blending their two families together, and trying to be a newlywed couple living with JP's family, etc. etc. etc. ................ When can they ever catch a break! Other 'HO' (straight) couples get a good couple of months before 'something' happens. They are already dealing with a situation, now they (the writers) decided to add this too it as well! ........... This is ridiculous! ........ Yes, the topic of HIV/AIDS is an important one, but the writers could have chosen any other 'couple' to be dealing with this new storyline. ...... Ugggh! .... For heaven's sake, give these boys a chance!

I agree, but is the same for a straight couple for ex : Maxine with dodger or Theresa XD , or Nancy with darren they get married and never came back together . I think the problem is how is HO is writing their stories.

winsboy No but Kieron should think about leaving. I mean not have Ste die but have Ste leave with a certain someone. Kieron is too talented to settle for just Hollyoaks.

Such amazing performances from Kieron and James. When Ste's in the nurse office after the results came back you can see the tears forming in Kieron eyes and that their real tears not a crying permormance of an actor.

I did not see this happening! I really hope they show a different side of Ste through this storyline and that him and John Paul grow closer... I would hate for it to be a repeat of how he has always reacted to things because lets be honest, it is getting a bit old...

Would be nice if the story ends making sense and has real repercussions unlike 90% of the stuff HO produces where nothing seems to matter, everybody goes on with their lives like it´s nothing the day after a murder, kidnapping, massive deaths (aka constant casting replacements) and so on. The show has good isolated moments but it´s just too much, like I don´t care what happens, it´s crazy all the time. I´ll repeat it again: James Sutton deserves better, and Kieron needs to leave the role, it´s time, the number of times Ste has gone through the same things... (plus he is good enough to go and try something new and better). Just my opinion guys.

I agree Kieron is so talented he can do more then just Hollyoaks. Plus it would be a oppotunity for them to bring Brenden back so he and Ste can leave together and have the life and the ending they were supposed to

Again thanks so much PCF1 :D I like a lot how they take time to showing us all the process, good performance of James an Kieron, good episode as well I insist I hope John Paul and Ste stay together is important show that people can live with HIV and be able to have a relationship, but is a soap and is HO :( I really hope HO make a good HIV storyline out of cliches

Yep this is one of those tearjerkers! Damn I wanted them to have some time to be happy before being hit again with something really bad! Actually I didn't want them to be hit with any more bad things, but this is a soap so eventually they were going to have another dramatic storyline, but why so soon? I mean like JP said, it's only been a year since he was raped, then he went to jail, Ste hasn't been out of rehab that long, JP just lost two of his sisters, Ste lost his father, Ste and JP just found out that Ste got Sinead pregnant, the trial with Finn, etc.! A lot has happened to them in one year! A lot more bad stuff than good! They just needed some time to be happy before another bad thing came up! Why is this couple always being beaten down with way more shit than any other couple! That's way too much shit to happen in one year for anyone to deal with, with both of them! I was looking forward to them having some peace and happiness for at least a little while! They needed it! This could completely break them!

Kieron has grown to become a really capable actor!!! Hopefully by being diagnosed as HIV positive - Ste would ultimately take full responsibility for his own thoughts and actions which determine if it could be brought under control in the long run. Thus the HIV storyline might present a life changing opportunity for Ste to overhaul himself character wise - from an impulsive and impatient person who always reacted unthinkingly to one who stays cool and collected and on top of situations. And I hope that Brenden would be brought back (even temporarily) to support Ste for the rest of their life!!! Only Brenden would unconditionally love and care for Ste until the end!!!

Oh how heartbreaking :( I think this is the end of watching this show. Too much crap to put them through over and over and over. It's become too hard to watch once again. Easier to not bother.
