Buy a 600k USD house for you and your immediate family (600k might get you a 3 bedroom house in a small city, or a decent apartment). Save 1.3M and invest it in S&P 500 or a 401k or other private pension plan. You're set for life. 100k you leave for petty shit, a nice car, a big party for your homies, any way of helping friends/family out. The following years you streamline the process, this time not buying the house, it's unnecessary. Save 1.8M and spend 200k/year. With 200k/year you can hire a private chef for 5k/month, that's food covered for you, get great health coverage for 20k/year, allocate 20k/year to travel which is insanely good, and I don't even know where to spend the rest, save up to buy your mama a house or something 😂 Buying everyone houses is not gonna come a long way and selling them/renting them can be a pain.

Depending on the team he plays for, he may be able to find something nice. Personally, I say keep momma close and invest in land to eventually build something in the future as well. Like you said saving and investing should be his goal until he fully settled in. No splurging on the unnecessary. Real estate development would be a good one. Build not just houses, but apartments, condos, duplexes, and so on. Really develop the community.
