In frontal analysis compound Wih least affinity for stationary phase and higher affinity for mobile phase eluted out . Only one compound in pure form is eluted in frontal analysis.

Sir can u please differentiate btw frontal analysis and isocratic elution method? I mean in displacement method we use displacers and in gradient elution we change composition of mobile phase so these are clearly different methods but what about frontal and isocratic how can a person tell a difference in these methods without seeing the results?

why we don't get pure result in frontal but get pure result in eluation but the process of both is same plz explain sir
@pkclasses100
@pkclasses100 6 жыл бұрын
That depends upon the development of solvent system. If analyst is not able to develop solvent system for elution technique then only analyst will do frontal analysis because of no better technique available else elution technique will be done.
@mohammedzeeshan8832
@mohammedzeeshan8832 6 жыл бұрын
In frontal analysis no separate mobile phase is used insted wo keep on adding sample solution(that act as a mobile phase)thats why we do not get cmplt separation where as in elution process we use a mobile phase which do not contain any sample solution.

@@pkclasses100 I meant one compound will remain throughout the stationary phase or its just shown that A is running through every fraction and finally reaches end
