Ive seen stuff about it online, but は being pronounced like わ really confuses me

Thank you so much for your comment! I also had the same confusion while learning Japanese. Here is a simple idea that might help you: は　when used before any word is read as "Ha" But when used between other words it is read as "Wa わ" Ex: わたしはイギリス人です。 its read as "Wa わ" Ex:はしる 。　Its read as ”Ha"
