Hi Frank, I also have a N54 and at the moment the car drives great for the first half hour and then the gears jump or get stuck and it gets undriveable. I'm reluctant to replace the gearbox as people in the net mention it can be the linkage. Have you ever heard of this problem?

Shifters do seem like black magic until the first time you do them. Then they are easy. Not to be afraid.

I see that you didn't replace the adhesive in this video. Is this something that you are going to do at another time?

There’s no adhesive used in their application

Hey, I just had my 2011 335XI N55 manual E90 give me some trouble - perhaps you have the knowledge to help me. My car will not shift into reverse. All of the other gears work fine, but it will not go into reverse. My guess is the reverse gears are fine, there is just something perhaps wrong with the selection rod? or with the shift reverse safety switch? or might there be an actual transmission error? Please advise - any extra knowledge would be helpful!

Hey man i wanted to write this comment so you could give me some tips. I want to swap an n52 into my e36, but i want something that's reliable fast and stick. I was hoping you could give me some options.
