Arjun Ashokan is an Indian actor working in the Malayalam film industry. He is the son of Malayalam actor Harisree Ashokan. He is considered one of the most dependable actors in Malayalam cinema. He is seen in both character and lead roles and is very popular among youngsters.
Making his debut with Orkut Oru Ormakoot, along with a group of newcomers, Arjun first made a mark with Parava, the debut directorial of Soubin Shahir, and later with B. Tech and the sleeper hit June produced by Vijay Babu, and The Times of India described him as a scene stealer in his own right for the later film. Arjun was also noticed in films like Varathan, Unda, Super Sharanya and An International Local Story, directed by his actor father Harisree Ashokan.
He married Nikhita Ganeshan in 2018. The couple have a daughter.
His latest movie is Chaver with Kunchacko Boban, Antony Varghese Pepe Directed by Tinu Pappacha. His last movie was Swathantram Ardharathriyil.
In this conversation Arjun talks about the days when he was just starting out. He has seen several ups and downs in life. He shares them with us. He talks about the phase when his family went through financial difficulties and when he in spite of his dad`s name found it difficult to find work.
He also talks about his acting process and people who have really supported him. He talks about he had mental health issues primarily Anxiety during Covid and how he has overcome it. He also talks about how his addiction to alcohol affected his career and how took steps to overcome alcoholism. He talks about his relationship with his dad and how his father too overcome his dependency on Alcohol.
In his own candid way, Arjun shares some life lessons on how important it is to stay focussed in life and take care of oneself.

Arjun's interview is down to earth and seems genuine. He acknowledges the fact that his father's name had helped him in the industry, respectfully. Bt his take on mental health issues and addiction are very disappointing. From 17:00 to 17:05, Itz really hypocritical the way he says how he's had anxiety and overthinking issues and how "mental health issues ulla aalkar onnum tension adikkanda avashyam illa, chumma overthinking aanenn"karyam alla. Having gone thru it he must know, how anxiety is overwhelming and out of someone's control. It requires proper help and support. Tension adikkanam enn aagrahich aarum tension adikkunnathallallo. He addresses mental health issues as something to be covered up rather than sought help for. Ath pole alcohol addiction also, addiction ennonnulla, okke nammal vicharichal nirthaavunnatheyyllu. By commenting like this, he is invalidating the struggles other people with such conditions are going through. It was insensitive of him to invalidate and dismiss the issues of people who don't get proper help and are therefore still struggling.
