Indian marriages are different than Western marriages in terms of expenses and obviously, traditions It is not a one or two-day occasion... minimum of 500-1000 people's expenses are included in it.

There was a song in the party which was removed in the final version. Therefore such weird transition. The DVD release had the uncut version where you can see the whole song. The same song chhoti was watching on tv.

Is it just me who doesn't see the mom as a villain or even that wrong? I mean just think about it, your family is already not that economically good and already have a child of your own while your husband brings a child of his brother home because of his and his wife's uncertain demise, which gives you financial issues because of the growth in family, above that your husband is visibly more obsessed with the brother's daughter because of her too goody nature, on that she is much more good looking than your own daughter because of which whoever comes to your house are more impressed by the adoptive daughter than yours and when they grow up your husband gets the adoptive daughter to get married to the most charming and wealthy guy and not only that he's ready to sacrifice all their savings on her marriage, you tell me which normal human will be so selfless that they will be ok with all these things

Dude, she could be at least a little affectionate towards Poonam, right ? Poonam was a child when she lost her parents. A child is always hungry for affection. Even if you scold the child throughout the day but show her love once, that child will do things for you hoping for that love again. Poonam was brought to a new home by her Chacha Jee. Instead of sorting home economics with her husband, Chachi took it out on Poonam with her cold-shoulder treatment. What if instead of Poonam, they had a second girl child of their own suddenly ? The family still would have to prioritise and sort out their finances accordingly over the years.
