Excellant, excellant, excellent video. It's not very often we get to see the knives in action by comparison. I hope you have another, part 3, with more knives. Thank you.

Yeah man! It's a bunch of fun. Great excuse to get together and play with blades around the fire!

Point the edge of the blade behind your first knuckle on your index finger..grip handle index and thumb..then middle ring and pinky..grip tightly..then RELAX YOUR HAND…the tighter you grip the more the knife dives into the wood…RELAX and the blade will glide..and keep your knives sharp…

It was 2 years before I realized bushcraft wasn’t just about splitting logs.

2 knifes is what a man really needs, a slicer and a workhorse. everything else is useless, especially behind glass in a showcase

Real world expectations. An axe or splitting machine and a saw set your wood up. I can do your tests with a kitchen knife. Better yet I can go to my corner store and buy a bad axe and some wood and get the same results. Cutting/smashing wood is not the call. Process meat is the call.

Talk to me when the Chinook wind and rain comes in. There is no time or thinking in making a fire it just gather the wood and hope your match fires up well. Trust me the last thing you think about is will my fire stick work with my knife. I can minus the smashing do the exact same thing with an old 1970s gas station folding knife. Not bush craft.

bushcraft knifes are somehow useless in my opinion. they really dont excel in anything. not to use for hard work and no slicer either. Its a abdomination multiplied by yt vids. same as using firestones in 21th century. useless knifes for weekend warriors, to carve a spoon in nature and making a fire with firestone to eat food out of a can. and bringing saw into the forest because the knifes suck. i love knifes and some of them look really nice, but i dont buy tools because they look nice, i buy because they have to be good and useful.
