It was the purple decided it for me - I knew I wanted a Pfaff which narrowed it down to three main models in my price bracket - budget is everything I spotted a Brother machine on one site which was £13,000 !!!!! I would want to be able to drive it if my machine had cost that much 🤣🤣🥰xx

Love your new machines I’m thinking of getting a pfaff so will be interested to see how you get on with it. I keep my cutting mat under my sofa it just slides under and keeps it nice and flat, I noticed you have a sofa in your sewing room so maybe you could too. X

Thanks for watching Deborah, unfortunately my sofa is a recliner so all the workings are underneath 🙄 So far I LOVE my Pfaff I wasn't that bothered about the lighting built into the machine but I have to say I think it's one of favourite features it is so bright. I will review when I've used a few more features but it's all going well so far. Happy sewing 🥰xx

Just watched part two, lovely sewing space with a lovely view, good on you, and not having to run up stairs etc, I nearly bought the same overlocker, but, dB design Australia and Ruan got me looking at theirs and wow air threading the needles got me, should arrive tomorrow Monday my time, can't wait,but alas have to 😢 having just moved my sewing space is half what I had 😢but will over come and adapt 😂, now going to watch part three of your Mini series,oh had a great laugh visualising the overlocker flying through the window 😂😂😂 regards Diana from NZ 🎉❤

I love the air threader - although I am still getting used to it and have only done it two or three times as I haven't needed to change the colour of my thread but I know it will get easier - I know sometimes I am not in the right mind to sew - I bypass the shouting at my machines to just wanting to throw them out, this is when I should perhaps just read or watch a bit of TV instead. You will have your new machine by now so have a lovely time playing and let me know how it goes. 🥰xx

Hi Andrea yes a few people have said that and I hadn't thought about it but it's good to be able to see everyone through the doors (by everyone I mean the dogs and hubby!) although I can leave the doors open too as Alfie gets distressed sometimes if I shut them and the hubster has some headphones for the tv so he can't hear me 'rattling away' as he puts it. 🥰xx

Hi Karen, your new machines look great. Pfaff machines are terrific. I bought my first one in 1978 😮 and the one I’m using now I bought in 2001. Not bad eh!!! They are fabulous workhorses. Looking forward to Part 3. 🧵🪡🇦🇺

Love your new space and machines. I’m lucky enough to have a dedicated sewing & vlogging room in the garden but I don’t have a tv in there. I had to get a Wi-Fi extension so I can have KZbin on my iPad or laptop while I’m sewing as I agree with you, it’s quite inspiring to watch/ listen and sew. Bring on the fabric haul 🤩😍

I love your sewing room too Julie. Although I would need industrial heaters up here if I had the same as you I think you are a little further south than me? Loved your Pogonips by the way! 🥰xx

@@karensewsslowly haha yes I’m in Essex which is definitely milder than up North . I do have a very good heating/ air con system in there so I can sew early mornings or late evenings, no sport Chanel blaring out in the background and no worries about disturbing anyone with the overlocker

Lovely new sewing space. Fabulous new machines - definitely have a touch of green eye but cannot think of anyone who deserves them more. Wonderful that your sewjo is back. I use tweezers to thread my Overlocker needles - really long ones with a fine end with little grips on- a real game changer for me anyway. Looking forward to your hauls. 😊 Lynne
@karensewsslowly9 ай бұрын
Hi Lynne and thank you that's so sweet of you to say that. I have some tweezers too but the crampy hands don't work well with them either - although it might have saved my finger from injury - good job I wasn't on the blood thinners at that point I could have lost pints! Happy sewing lovely 🥰xx

Hi Karen, love your new sewing space, and new machines. Just wondering if your cutting mat would fit under the sofa, I always think they are best kept flat.
@karensewsslowly9 ай бұрын
A few have suggested this but unfortunately it won't the sofa is a recliner and all the frame and mechanics are underneath it. I have used the mat and it wasn't too bent and by the time I'd cut the pattern out it had flattened out. Thanks for watching, happy sewing 🥰xx

I have the Janome air threader. It’s great. I found it hard getting used to threading too - Word of warning - never be tempted to knot new threads and pull through loopers. Got away with it for a while but then one got stuck with knot still inside the tiny tube 😢 Obviously not covered by guarantee as my fault. Cost £80 to sort. Also my darling husband had got rid of original box so had to buy a new one for £30 to be able to send to off Janome. Hard lesson to learn but got it back and works fine again 😊
@karensewsslowly9 ай бұрын
Thanks for that Rita as I probably would've tried that - was your needle threader a bit stiff as mine is very stiff and 'jerky' not a smooth flow like my sewing machines although same sort of mechanism? My machine came direct from Janome although I didn't order it from them but the sales assistant warned me against using cheap threads and I have found when using 'hairy' threads the air thread system doesn't seem to like it much. I'm sure I will get used to it over time. Happy sewing 🥰xx
@Sew-and-sew9 ай бұрын
@@karensewsslowly Yes Karen. I know what you mean about the threader being a bit jerky. It’s not as smooth as my Bernina one. It is designed to click from left to right too, so you can thread both needles. Works well though, you’ll soon get used to it and it sews beautifully. I’ve never noticed any problems with type of thread. I just use whatever’s handy. Rarely have to change settings either, usually ‘3’s’ for pretty much everything. Enjoy getting to know your new machine!! 😊❤️

So pleased that you got both your new machines, you totally deserve them, after what you have, are, going through. Must say they are both gorgeous and I sure you will love the pfaff , I absolutely love mine, and the air thread overlocker should be fabulous, I’m well jealous. Love your new sewing room, that’s a lot better you can just shut your doors on it and come and go as you like without feeling cut off from the rest of the house. Good job 😊 much better idea. x

Lovely new machines. Could you store the cutting mat under the sofa ? X
@karensewsslowly9 ай бұрын
Hi Ella - unfortunately no, the sofa is an electric recliner so all the workings are underneath sadly. I will probably end up with it on the desk under my machines at some point but at the moment whilst I am still in love with my machines I think the black sets them off beautifully - but when I've had them a while and the 'newness' idea has worn off I'll not be so bothered. 🥰xx
