At the time I shot this I purchased these from amazon smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0762KC11C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 removed the rubber and had them powder coated then re glued the rubbers back on. Solid boards.

Hey Steve, great video. What brand floor boards are on that bike?
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
well..to be honest im not sure on the brand. I purchased them on eBay and had them powder coated as they were used. I had them for awhile in my shop from an old build that I didnt use. After getting them powder coated I went to pout them on and the right side board would not mount up do to the design. The inside point hot the brake lever. soooooo they got pulled and put back in the cabinet. Honestly though I never knew the brand name as they were purchased used from the start.

Steve what product would you recommend when cleaning engine on bike. I have some white spots that i want to remove from top of primary
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
depends on what the white spts are but id start with a degreaser and brush and try to get it out...follow it up with the hd engine brightner or equivalent to bring back the black if its on the wrinkle black. Honestly I use stuff called Awesome from the dollar store...its a buck a bottle its pretty good degreaser for the garage.
@Firelord3604 жыл бұрын
so if those lifters were not flush with the case, does that mean it isn't on the compression stroke?
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
no it is set at TDC but you have oil trapped in the plunger...The plunger must be compressed to expel that oil. Bleed down is the release of fluid in the lifter. Never turn your motor over to work on the other cylinder until you can fully hand turn your pushrod and the rocker has some free movement in them, if you dont wait you will likely bend the valve as you rotate the engine over

How much did it cost you to get everything powder coated
@sikbaggers3 жыл бұрын
I had everything powedered and both slip ons Cerakoted for roughly 550..the cerakote was the most .....so if id didnt do the exhaust it would have been around 350-400 and this was done at a huge powder coat shop...not a home made powder station. I have never got prices from anyone else so i really cant compare but this guy is known to be the best around my area....he didnt let me down...nice clean powder
@andrewbutler16094 жыл бұрын
I know every locations will have slightly different prices depending on quality of work and zip code but can someone share what you could expect to pay to powder coat the parts covered in part one and 2?
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew...I had about 25 pieces and both slip ons that got cerakote which costs a little more to do...the total for this bike was about 450 bucks. The pipes themselves were about 150. He told me a good rule of thumb for the parts was the outer primary cover was about 45 bucks and the the biggest piece I took him. So you kind of gauge from there what pieces cost. Now this guy was a powder coater and bad liner guy...not a local guy with a homemade powder coat oven and thats what I payed...so you may find it cheaper. I thought it was a good deal considering just replacing a few covers with black from HD was about the same price as everything I got done. I hope this helps you get an idea.
@andrewbutler16094 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the quick reply. That's cheaper then I thought. Add a couple more for fluid and gaskets etc... the bike looks great love the whiskey build. Your giving some great ideas. I need to go start a go fund me page???? Lol

About how much does it cost to powder coat all the parts you did for these 2 videos

it was roughly 400 for the powder coat and 100 to cerekote the pipes

SIK Baggers I’m going to call around and find a local powder coater and do the same thing
@gregmannos4 жыл бұрын
This looks badass... What kind of $$ do you have in this?
@sikbaggers4 жыл бұрын
Well I sat down and started pricing just replacing these parts with black parts instead of powder coating..and after the inner primary, derby cover, cam/points covers I was up to about 500. I called the local powder coating guy and got all of this done for 550, including the exhaust pipes. There was about 30 pieces total. What I didnt factor in was the gaskets. Around 170 for new oil for all 3 holes and all new gaskets and o rings.
