Nice old Massey Ferguson! You should also check oil levels in rear reduction gears, near the rear wheels. There is some oil in those also.

There is also a bronze screen on the top of the fuel petcock. Remove the line to the lift pump, and you can unscrew the petcock and clean the screen. We have run up to 75% biodiesel in our 65, and it works as a great solvent, loosening everything in the lines. We took the petcock out and cleaned the screen once again. You will find it much more pleasant operating, with the exhaust at face level, when you run the biofuel. The CAV injection pump has impervious seals, it seems, and runs well without any timing mods. If it's the welded in place mesh filter I was told on a mf65 forum to just use petrol and burn the crud out. I did it that way and rinsed it out it had cleared it out !

I read about that trick after I did the service on it. Here in the fall I am going to maintenance it again and try that.
@BergsBees2 жыл бұрын
@@MrJustinWheeler Yeah, it's not so much a filter as it is an oil coalescer. The oil performs all of the filtering, the mesh just ensures that any droplets of oil that get swept out of the reservoir can coalesce or collect on the wire mesh and run back down into the reservoir. The burning trick just helps remove any oil buildup on the mesh. We use a similar style of coalescer in the oil and gas industry all the time.

Antifreeze in the tires and a heavy box blade and it's a small dozer. I raised the front end up and removed the lift cover the hydraulic pump and PTO shaft after draining the hydraulic fluid and flushed the transmission rear end out with solvent. PTO had damaged bearings. It had water in transmission too from leaving sit outside.

How are your gauge wires hooked up to volt regulator to starter mix . I having a time if you have a video on that.

Hi Justin also on the sump there is a circular cover held on by about 6 bolts if it's the same as mine and crud settles there

I will take a look at that. Thank you for the feedback, Philip.

I was watching your video, my fiance can't find where to add the power steering fluid, also what type of fluid should he be using?
@MrJustinWheeler2 жыл бұрын
I used regular ole power steering fluid and I poured it directly into the pump. There should be a little plug on the outside of the pump reservoir that you can remove and fill from there. Good luck!

That filter/screen should come out if I’m not mistaken. You can clean it just like you did the oil bath reservoir.

For the mechanism attached to pto to move bucket up and down. Is it the same fluid in both tanks? Sorry im new to tractors

Next time you change the motor oil don’t take the old filter off and fill the engine up with Diesel fuel and start it let it run for a minute or to and drain it and do it one more time then take your filter off and add your oil and it will clean your motor up nice

@@timothyadrian5313 don't take the oil filter off and fill the engine up with diesel fuel and start it let it run for a minute or to (sic) and drain it and do it one more time then take your filter off and add your oil. Are you saying to use diesel fuel as engine oil? Because if you are, you are not clearly describing that procedure.
@timothyadrian5313 Жыл бұрын
@@jimknowlton342 no I’m not saying that at all just run the diesel fuel in it for just a few minutes then drain the fuel out and add your oil like normal the diesel fuel just cleans the inside of the engine
@jimknowlton342 Жыл бұрын
@@timothyadrian5313 okay, so you ARE saying to put diesel into the crankcase and run that as engine oil. I'm not debating that you should or should not do that, I'm just literally not sure that's what you're saying people should do.
