My daughter was diagnosed at 17. I wish I had picked up the signs earlier. She figurered it out herself and was diagnosed. She’s doing much better…she’s happy, she’s in art school, has a job and a partner. 😊

I think you were just describing my daughter. She’s 6 and we just got her official L2 ASD diagnosis. It’s been a long road convincing our pediatrician that something was off. (USA) But the DR. diagnosing her had zero doubts. She has never played with dolls the way others do. With her talking baby dolls, she would open their back, take batteries out, and put them back exactly as they ought all at the age of 20 months. Even today she was pulling her Barbie legs out, pretending to be a surgeon, and pop it back in. ASD is both confounding and amazing.

Hi, My son seemed perfectly fine the first year and then around the 18 month mark, symptoms of autism started kicking it. It was mainly in comparison to his older sister and the differences in their milestones. He is now a little over 2.5 years old and every symptom that you described your son having, mine has too. I haven’t seen a specialist just yet, but your video is even more conformation and a lot of help. It can be emotional and overwhelming but it helps to know that there are other moms going through the same experience as myself when it comes to getting help for our children. Thank you for this wonderfully detailed video. ❤

It's so interesting that you mention doors because my 15 month old definitely focuses on doors, opening and closing, over and over. Also light switches. We've actually started putting a chair under light switches because our arms get too tired to hold him up for as long as he wants to play with switches. I personally don't feel at this stage that my son has autism, and a big reason is because he doesn't have a lot of the other things you describe like being in his own world. But it's certainly something I'm keeping an eye out for as I know he could develop it yet. Thanks for making these videos, your son is adorable and you presented things so clearly, I really appreciate it!

Thanks so much for your comment. I'm really glad the videos have helped you. That's so cute he likes to play with the lights. I bet the flickering drives you mad sometimes lol. I know a lot of non-autistic children that do "autistic" resembling things so it could just be one of his phases, but yeah if you notice other things it's worth thinking about it. My son (now almost 3.5) doesn't do anything like that anymore, he mostly plays with soft toys, feeding them and talking to them, which is really sweet. All the best for you and your son 💗

I have a feeling my now 8 year old could be on the spectrum. She was a horrible sleeper . Would never sleep more than an hour stretches as a baby until 1 , never napped longer than 30 min. She is really picky with her food, she doesn’t respond to directions right away, I have to repeat multiple times and she still has trouble following directions at 8 years old . She would run back and forth when she was a toddler repeatedly I never thought much of it but now I know she was stimming. She would squint her eyes and shake her head back and forth also. She was a toe walker also but we had that fixed with 2 years of therapy and boots But the thing is she was on time with her milestones , she crawled at 7 months and walked at 10 months and started to talk at 2 , but she still was in her own world , never showed an interest in other kids and had frequent meltdowns that were hard to calm her from. She still has a hard time regulating her emotions at 8 year old . She gets upset easily and doesn’t understand social cues. I have a 1.5 year old boy now and he is a complete opposite of her, he sleeps 10 hours at night and eats everything . He did start to crawl later tho at about 9 months and started to walk at 12 months . He responds to his name and engages in everything we ask him. He listens very well and I feel like he is more mature than my 8 year old sometimes 😅

@@yuuokami2156this is debatable and cannot be proved. There are many factors which could affect the outcomes in modern society, dietary habits, chemical exposure, vaccinations aswell as genetic changes in humans over the past 100 years are dramatically different to the past. Research is ongoing but there is more than likely a significant contributing factor which currently still eludes us. Medical advances in the future will no doubt be able to pinpoint the exacerbating factors and causes of ASD. It is complicated because it is more of a neurological state rather than a disorder.

He's fully vaccinated but I strongly believe it's got nothing to do with him being Autistic, even before his first vaccination, looking back I can see the earliest hints of Autism. It can't be caused by anything because it's not a disability in my eyes, it's more like a superpower
@orchadorkification Жыл бұрын
The study that correlates vaccines with autism was very poorly done and even the researchers have admitted it wasn’t a good study. There were only 12 children in the study, some of which weren’t even autistic, and the study was entirely based on parental observations and reports. The connection between autism and vaccines that so many have was largely caused by tv propaganda from the 70s and 80s.
