PART 2 - Emitter swapping 519A and de-doming

This is incredible. I'm linking this in the description of my 519A dedome video because this is a better technique. The video quality looks a little more excellent than usual. Did you get a new camera?

Same camera, but I did shoot it use LogV3 and a LUT. Hopefully that helped a bit. I was still a little disappointed, wanted it clearer still.

I have a wurkkos ts 21 and I did this on the LED, but now the flashlight works and the LEDs do not light up. I don't understand why I only did it with my fingernail.

Is there any difference between the XP-L and Nichia versions of the RRT-01 except the differences of OP vs. smooth reflector and the LED itself? Do you recommend one over another for the 519A?

Just emitter and reflector. I have used both, and the throw difference (hotspot size) is barely different at all (the smooth being sliiiightly tighter) but the LOP reflector really gets rid of beam artifacts, so I only use the Nichia version now.

These are created by Nichia for office applications where neutrality and floodiness are benefits.

Sorry it’s unrelated but do you notice any leds losing brightness in your emisar lights like led degrade from being overdriven in your tests?

I have not, and I own quite a few. I’d check that you weren’t accidentally in simple mode. Check battery age/voltage.

Nice video, but Ra is not all R1-R15, Ra value is average of R1-R8, this is why R9 value is more important than Ra. Also dedoming increases Lumens.

I’m aware of that, which is why I have my Sekonic configured to show r9 as well. If I said 1-15, I was just misspeaking. I can’t speak to all emitters, but it’s been documented that 519A loses lumens after a dedome.

lol the astrolux ec03 leds are blue if you take the domes off lol not that i was trying to take them off but it happend and mow i have a astrolux ec03 with blue leds lol but yeah im going to buy new xhp50.2 leds to replace these one that i ruined lol and this sucks becuse this light is brand new and not used lol i ltterly tuned it on and hen had to mess wtth it and look insode and i accedenty ripped off the domes on the leds and they still work somehow but there just blue without the sulfer dome lol
