I never understood the purpose of auto head cleaners in VCR's. From experience I have found they do more harm than good, especially when the little pad becomes hard and dirty; so I always removed them. I also do not recommend using wet-type video cassette head cleaners either (they simply don't work). Special guest appearance by Mr. Acetone - a workshop tech's best friend. I believe you may have yet another happy customer with a unit that stays out of landfill for at least a few more years or so. 2 thumbs up. :o)

@@mikec9112 302 i meant lol it had the mustang engine in it i think it was 5.0 thats why i bought it my thinking was that a smaller suv had a v8 would last and i was towing with it because in my experience smaller engines pushing a big car down the road tend to not last i worked in the 80s as a Pontiac then Honda mechanic the Pontiac smaller v6s always had problems but the bigger v6 4.1 i did very little repairs smaller 3.8 and think 231 with the oil pump in front of the engine crank case externally were the worst i was always doing engine work on the smaller ones in Bonneville's and the other big cars it really needed an v8 which was rare they were all trying to get good fuel mileage with the 6 cylinder the trans am 83 5.0 HO automatic trans if you stomped on the pedal it would light em up but did a lot of engine work on those too mostly because of union issues sabotage they would push brand new trans ams off the car carrier with pistons out the side of the block roomer was union sabotage

@DAN GATES No, I should have done one. As you obviously saw it is on my personal facebook page. Maybe I will post the snipets of it, although I was thinking on doing a video on how to test the speed sensors as the replacement xfer case had a bad one that I had to swap over from the old xfer case. I got this one from a coworker at my old job as the check engine light was on and he could not figure it out. He threw new plugs, plug wires, EGR valve, and a new fuel pump in it to no avail. I paid $700 for it in 2014 with 149K on the clock. The code was for an EGR performance issue, I found a rodent had chewed the EGR vacuum line and I just used a piece of vacuum hose from the solenoid to the EGR valve and viola no check engine light. I did get a replacement vacuum harness from the junkyard but haven't installed it (probably never will). Thanks Dan!

NP that EGR code came on the first couple months i bought mine and the hose was off put it back on and it was fixed then it came on again and i replaced the solenoid light went out again this was like a 3 year period then it did it again i swapped the solenoid from my link navigator it went out again for a while ha ha then the light came back on and i said not fixing it... it didn't fail inspection here in pa so i let it go finally the check engine light bulb blew out ha ha that and the coil pack was the only check engine pcm codes i ever had i have to say the mountaineer was a good vehicle as far as maintenance and investment i figured for what i paid for it had it for like 14 years cost 1500 a year to own like i said i hated to get rid of it now where you live car bodies and under carriages last for ever keeping a lot of older vehicles on the road something some people dont like there in your state ha ha
