Try using a Bristol wrench on the record knob instead of an Allen wrench. If the screw is an original, then that should do the trick. Thanks for sharing this video.

The hot line is Not the return line from the cooler. The hot fluid is the fluid that has not circulated to the cooler and is on the way to the cooler.

I think you missing the point or don't understand how it should be used!!!! Nothing will fix a badly desulfated battery. But if you got a relatively new battery & you use this unit on a regular basis, you will extend the battery life from 4 years to around 8 to 10 years, depending on usage.

Hiya mate. You may have a distant memory of me from following you years ago 😊 Anyway....I've been in the construction trade for years & I still find it impossible to guestimate how long a install or job is gonna take. So now I always add extra days onto my initial ridiculous estimate 😂😂. Good to catch up, see you in the next one,😊

This is a very helpful video as I'm doing the very same job tomorrow. Tone arm barely moves. BTW If the arm doesn't or can't return to its stop; all the buttons on the front stop responding (except the Open/Close). This had me worried until I worked out the cause.

I don't suppose you have any leads on where to get a new bottom element, mine snapped at the part where it's held in on the left hand end. I think the whole oven is a very bad design.

Off, unplugged to be safe also! Unless you are measuring LED voltage produced by the set, then of course you must power it on.

Guy, you started off so well, talking us through, explaining things. Then about a third of the way in, it seems you lost patience. Everything sped up, explaining nothing. You had a superb instructional video going, then tanked. Too bad.

As a tech, I found that heavy cigarette tar was a problem at times, but it could be removed from the top surface of the lens, and sometimes the bottom surface of the lens and sensor depending on the model. Some units would come in smelling like an ashtray and were coated with a noticeable tar tint on the exterior. Surprisingly, what I found what was worse on rare occasion was a home where a humidifier was used. I verified this with customer contact. My theory is that the whiter talcum powder layer was more effective at scattering the laser beam focused on the sensor that uses multiple elements. The cleaning process was the same. I noted a couple of weeks ago here on this channel that the Sony/Samsung DVD combos that are twins on the inside are easy to work on. It is also easy to clean both sides of the lens of these models. Grab up as many as you can if you are into that sort of retro-technology. They are not the best for image quality or smoothness in operation, but they get the job done as long as VHS tapes are physically viable.

Hi, I noticed from your video that the previous owner soldered a wire from the antenna to the battery terminal. And then there's a ground wire from the other side of the battery terminal. This was not original. Any idea's why? And do you know if there are wires connected from the back case to the main body? Thanks!

To actually see the hard drive you have to go back to home and select hard drive there under "title". I just went thru everything you just did but pressed rec with video connected, stopped after a few seconds, selected home and title and the hdd and ok to select what I recorded. All is fine. Drive is formatted.

Hello i have tascam CDA 700 and When I plug in the turntable and turn it on, the CD player drawer opens by itself, closes again, opens again and stops. It is impossible to play a CD and every time I press the open close button it does the same thing to me. Do you have any idea where it may come from thank

Clean the open close switch in the CD player and see if that helps. It may not know where the drawer is. Thanks.

Hi I have a old,but nice Samsung model (PS50Q97HD) plasma Tv that I’ve been working on for a number of weeks and is proving tricky. I initially got the set working and was busy upgrading the cooling and efficiency bid the (X) and (Y) main boards by adding small fans to pull heat through the heatsinks. I then replaced the(X) and (Y)mains and when turned on a transistor violently (exploded) shot across my he room just missing my head😡, ok so a (dead short) somewhere on one of the boards. I sourced a working S/H (exactly the same) replacement PWR Supply board. Before fitting I re- flowed all the joints on the Transistors, NPN PNP, Voltage Regulators,Mosfetts. Etc. I then replaced all major capacitors on the PWR Supply with new ones. Plugging in with (Test Bulb) connected (bulb in series with load) the Tv goes into classic (boot up loop) When connected directly240v TV PWR Supply keeps taking the 3Amp mains plug fuse, when I’ve used 5Amp plug fuses blows them to. When plugged in directly to 240v there was a loud (Bang) rhe exactly same transistor blew as on the original board and also tripped off the(Socket circuit) RCD in the flat. So there is (Definitely) a issue and/or (Shorted) component on the PWR Supply board.it’s difficult to test outputs to various other boards from the PWR Supply whilst it’s hell bent on blowing fuses. Advice and guidance would be much appreciated Jason

I can verify, those Panasonic drives were very unreliable. We would have to waste our tech time filling out the paperwork to return the "core", just to have it returned to the parts shelf and fail again after installation. A fellow tech marked one of those core Panasonic drives just to see if it would be boomeranged back. It was. 👎

The DVD drive in these Panasonic units have a tendency to fail almost right out of the box. I used to own a couple of DMR-EZ47V, DMR-XW390GL, and DMR-EZ48V models (brand new) - each of which had bad drives. Cleaning them didn't fix the problem. The cost of a replacement drive and digital PCB assembly was over $300 AU at the time + labour to install it. Multiply that by 2 or 3 and it becomes an expensive repair! 😖

Note about the rear fan: in a few of these Panasonic units the fan becomes active shortly after a DVD is inserted and playing or being recorded - it is not designed to start when the unit is first powered on and run constantly while idle - it is for the DVD drive only. This is true for DMR-EZ47V/DMR-EZ48V models.

That laser lens was yellow from tar before you cleaned it, and reflected blue after you had finished! People should realize that yellow tar is in their lungs to a greater degree than on the lens!
