Part 2 - Interview with Daniel of Humble Lamb Publishing

In this “More Than a Nickels Worth” series I travel to Liberty Kentucky to Humble Lamb Publishing’s studio to meet the top guy, Daniel Arroyo. It was an interesting drive and fascinating interview.

What was said about a Bible to hand down to your children with your own notes, underlines, etc is very true. On Dec 25th 1973 I gave my great grandmother a Thomas Nelson Giant Print KJV Bible. I was 16 years old so the Bible was purchased from a department store. When she died it was returned to me by my aunt. That Bible is all worn out. Cover was duct taped back onto it and came off again. It has a few burned pages from when she fell asleep reading it while holding a lamp. Yet I treasure that Bible, because it is my great grandmother's bible and it was read by her each and everyday and bears the worn pages of her daily devotion to God's Word.

So many details THAT set Humble Lamb apart from so many others! History Bible pulls at my heart strands would love to see Study Notes in it to help me along so I don't have to invest in another book only ONE Humble Lamb 🐑

Loved watching this very fascinating and interesting video. I couldn’t help but noticed that Daniel dressed in black, sitting in a yellow chair, the perfect representation for the yellow Humble Lamb bible. Guessing one of the new translations would be the NASB95. I really love my Red Humble in the NKJV which is not an easy color to get for the NKJV as many other publishers seem to bypass the red when it comes to the NKJV. Look forward to the next video….

Fabulous interview. His go to Bible is the one I bought. NKJV edge lined, fore edge Sahara Blue. It is beautiful. This interview gives me a sense of how adventurous Daniel is - entering the Premium Bible space with no lower cost versions to fall back on was brave - and it worked. I’m wracking my mind to think what this new colour might be. Hope we know soon. Love them all but I’d take Lunar Yellow last. I’ve got Allan red, Schuyler green, lots of black and some blue but no yellow so I wonder what this new colour could be. Premium Bible lovers are not a large market for sure but we certainly love ‘em!! Really appreciate that you’ve done these interviews. 😊

I wonder what inspired him to have "The Word of God" on the spine instead of "Holy Bible". Was it just because he wanted to be different? Whatever the reason is, I like it. It's what sets his Bibles apart from the others. That and the bright colors and the Blue letter instead of red.

So I got an answer. They said it’s because the scripture never uses the term Holy Bible, but calls itself the Word of God. They also mentioned that people have been desensitized to the term Holy Bible because they’ve seen it so much, they hoped using Word of God would restore a sense of reverence the God’s Word deserves.

I'm not a fan of yellow but I think I might change my mind if they come out in NKJV - it's been growing on me. It's nice finding a decent priced good Bible in colors. Also, I've only gotten the solid color gilting not the Lion or Shepherd - I've wondered how the picture gilt holds up wiht frequent handling/use - would it rub off or wear down like the gold gilt does sometimes? though I suppose the colored gilt could rub off too...
