Thank you for your feedback. I own two of these bibles. I have the yellow one you previewed and that one is my favorite. It is not bright yellow, it’s like a deep mustard yellow or school bus yellow. It’s beautiful. I love the small size and the font is amazing and easy to read. I also have the Lion in Sahara blue. Top quality. You get what you pay for and you are getting the best in these bibles. They are absolutely beautiful. Yes they are expensive but well worth the money. Top quality and top craftsmanship. If your thinking about purchasing one of these bibles, go for it!!! You will not be disappointed. It’s a treasure !!

Mate this is AWESOME! I've wanted to have a crack at bookbinding for years, ya gotta love that old school leather cover. Book binding/illustrating/printing/making is just freaking cool. Can't wait to see where this one goes! BTW that second one is pretty sweet. The images on the gilt edges and the maps 👌

Love nerdy Chris. Man after my own heart. You know I’m a gearhead and collector too, but with books the wisdom really is inside the covers and in-between the words. There’s nothing magic about reading the Bible in order. It’s literally a collection of books and genres that was compiled into its current form in the 4th century by a handful of old guys who thought they knew which stories we ought to care about who happened to know the Emperor Constantine, who made Catholicism the official religion of Rome at the time, although he waited till he was dying to get baptized-better to live as a pagan and die as a Christian, eh 😉. All this is to say, there’s a lot of wisdom (and nonsense) betwixt and between those beautiful bindings, but there is no need to read it from front to back. In fact, steer clear of Leviticus all together-unless you plan on converting to Judaism or have trouble sleeping at night lol. Read the first 8 chapters of Genesis, that’ll be enough to give you the oldest Jewish mythology. Abraham’s story is interesting, which is the rest of Genesis, but unless you’re super fascinated, I would jump ahead to Deuteronomy and read a bit of the Moses story-just a bit. Then I’d skip over all the prophets for now, except Jonah. Check out some of King David’s famous stories (you’ll find he was a bit of a prick), and most of Job (one of the oldest if not the oldest book in the Hebrew Bible), though feel free to get quick summaries of his “friends” response’s to his suffering. Then read a few Pslams and Proverbs at random just to get a feel for Jewish poetry and wisdom sayings. Then read my favorite book, Ecclesiastes. After that, jump ahead to the New Testament and read Mark, that’s the oldest gospel-of which the other two synoptic gospels are based. Then read the gospel of John, much different portrayal of Jesus. Beyond that, unless you’re interested in the development of the early Church via Paul and Peter, I’d skip the epistles and read Revelation. If you complete all that, you will have a more well-rounded biblical education than most church-going Christian’s, especially if you read or watch some commentary (religious and secular) on the books you’re reading after having read them. Also, there are plenty of other non-canonical books that didn’t make the cut, including Gnostic gospels of Jesus, that may interest you as well. Anyway, thought I’d take the time to give my buddy some unasked for advice lol. Cheers, man. PS: Love to hear your thoughts, Mr. Brian, on suggestions for how an inquisitive, open-minded newcomer, like our mutual friend Mr. Killinger (assuming they’re not a self-professing brother in Christ) should approach the Bible. Also be interesting to hear your thoughts on whether your recommendations would be any different for, say, a new convert or somebody who is merely a seeker or interested for cultural or literary reasons. That is to say, assuming they’re not going to dedicate the time required to read every word several times over, where should they spend their time. I know, I know-it’s all the word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit-but anyone who’s every been to church and sat through a few sermons know even pastors have favorite chapters and verses. I once had a pastor I respected a lot tell me that most pastors have about three sermons on their heart, and they basically dress them up with different chapter and verse every Sunday. He didn’t mean this as a criticism. It’s just true lol. This can change a bit over time, as you know, but I find myself continually returning to Job and Jonah over the years. One man who was earnestly seeking God and suffered anyway, in some sense because of his good faith, and another who was running away from God but found him anyway-as well as God’s people, in this case foreigners, gentiles (not Jews), Ninevities-of all places, in the belly of a beast in a foreign land. What are your favorites?

I wanted to love this bible, but the images are wrong. You have to be careful when depicting what we want Jesus to look like. If I was a bible creator, this would be something I would tread very lightly with. So, as a black female Christian this will be a bible I will not be purchasing. The quality of this bible is wonderful. I would think they would have known better (long flowing hair...really?). Great review very informative. Thanks keep the reviews coming.🥰

The Humble Lamb are beautiful Bibles. A strange question, but do yours smell like old Billy Goat? Having lived on a farm, and knowing the smell, it hit me as soon as I opened the box, which is the only thing that has spoilt the pleasure of these beautiful Bibles. I know the smell of leather, it is usually pleasant, but this smell certainly isn’t. Just curious if mine is the only one that smells this way,or perhaps others don’t notice the smell?
