In Bau, 45km outside of Kuching is KK Blacksmith. The blacksmith and their tradition goes back to 1937. Mr. Fu makes some of the best blades here. Many of us outdoors' people carry his parangs. I have an old video in KZbin where he made 2 knife blades for me. I did not know anything about knife and got the terms all wrong in that video. BTW, great video about parangs.

I love a good parang, which are hard to find in the US. Thanks for going through much of the design philosophy behind these blades. Very well done. 👍

You can get a lot of good original stuff from knives & tools in malaysia, they are super reliable and ship fast, if you are willing to pay for the shipping. In the end it comes out at about the price of what something similar would cost in your own country, because local prices are much lower. I live in Northern Europe and I bought three different Bidor parangs at two different occasions and I shit you not they were in my hands like 3 days after.
