Thank you so much for taking time to share these every week. I feel so blessed that scholars who have spent decades studying will then take personal time and share their knowledge freely to any who care to listen. Wow, another amazing presentation from the CFM/SC Team. I just loved all the brilliant nuggets of learning and insights. They really do bring added measure and perspective to these timeless stories. I used to always feel sorry for John the Baptist and think 'poor thing, look what happened to him'. I never thought of him as a forerunner for the Saviour after death. How did I miss that? Oh my goodness, It makes sense that this is so, because it also follows the same pattern of their births. I love that this presentation is in two parts. I just love all the beautiful insights about Zedekiah and Elizabeth. The lessons that came from their challenges are also lessons for us. I am enjoying getting to know Mary in a different light too. Thank you Bro Griffin and Bro Halverson for a wonderful lesson ❤️.

I love this show and all the information that I gain from watching. I only have one comment and that is how we skip over the fact that Joseph also had to have a great testimony and how much he followed God’s will. We also know that Joseph had to be a great influence in the life of Jesus Christ. He also must have said Thy will be done for he give his whole life to Mary and Christ, when he could have easily walked away. Joseph and Mary are both great examples in my life.

When it said that the angel was on the right side of the altar it made me think of the angel being on the right hand of God. When we kneel before the altar it can be symbolic of us kneeling before the Lord one day.

Thank you for your videos. I can listen to them when I do some chores at home. I like the way to be taught while doing necessary but not so pleasant things. :-). I would like to add some thoughts of mine which came to me while listening to this video. Concerning Elisabeth After decades of waiting a child it is not surprising she wanted to hide until the baby is born. Even if we trust God a little amount of doubt can reside inside ourseleves and in her old age she might have miscarriage before the delivery. The story does not say if she had miscarriages before. It is possible she did not want to add shame (due to social culture) if she had a misscarriage after telling everybody she was pregnant. I would like to add that I think she knew she was going to have a child, probably before her husband. We can imagine Elisabeth sharing the new to her husband and him answering something like "honey, I know how much you are deseperate to have a child, don't you think your revelation might come only from your strong desire? Have faith, after this life we will have children" etc, etc ... so an angel had to come to him to make him believe.... I hope my thoughts are not shocking but we know that our mother Eve knew before Adam what they should do ... and I see many things like that in our time today. :-) :-)

Luke was contemporary to Paul. We know that Mary lived a long life, and died in Greece. Luke was an intelligent Greek. He knew that the church would not put up with him outing Mary in his writing. She was protected, even guarded. She was moved to keep Rome from finding her. Luke must have interviewed Mary. Without that Luke would not have the story of Mary in Jerusalem. Luke knew Mary.

Ive been thinking that Mary could not have travelled to Jerusalem by herself. She would have had to go in a caravan with some family present. Someone in her family might have been present to hear Elizabeth testify. Mary might have previously told them about Elizabeth's pregnancy. I hope and believe that Mary had a family that believed her, and was supporting her.

So excited for this year’s study!! But not so excited for your current background. All the darkness is really a distraction for me, and maybe others as well. The Gospel message deserves more light 💡!! 😅

In another KZbin discussion I watch, they think his heart wasn't in the right place.....his answer comes across as "show me a sign", especially when Gabriel afterwards said in essence "hey I'm Gabriel, an angel who stands in the presence of God, doesn't that tell you something?" Mary did kind of ask the same, but I think it was a 'heart condition' thing.

There are 4 main people in this account Mary/Joseph and Elizabeth/Zacharius. I wonder if anyone else has thought how Elizabeth had to believe her husband’s account of having a son at her age as she was not privy to seeing an Angel? Undoubtedly she knew Zacharius to be a good and a spiritual man plus he could not does to her so something had to have occurred.

Sometimes it tales me a minute, so sorry that we're past this, but if John the Baptist's job is to prepare, and if that's his stewardship forever, is it a surprise that he came to restore the "preparatory" Priesthood in 1829? Is that restoration the end/fulfillment of his stewardship?
