Moving, emotional and a reminder of how lucky we are to live in these (fairly) peaceful times. My grandfather (I remember him well) served in WW1 and my father in WW11. Let's hope I'm the last generation who's previous two generation served in world wars.

What a fantastic trip, thank you for sharing that. The preparation and planning you put in were amazing. It’s one of the things on my bucket list, but I never had the chance before to go and do this. If you ever are planning another trip I would be happy to tag along as your planning was excellent, I’m sure they are a few others that would go like me. Well done again for sharing the trip, Bradley.

Definitely 3 days and loads of places to stay nearby . Boat times were why we booked to stay “out” of the area in our case but I would take the hit on that if I did it again and stay closer. CONdor sailing times to France are absolute pants at the moment, bring back early morning sailings, planning my September trip to the Pyrenees and sailing times stupid, I will definitely be taking my Macna heated clothing with me on that trip, because weather can change at the drop of a hat in the mountains.

I agree in general although i find the night sailing quite useful for bike trips as it means i can work that day, get on the ferry in the evening i always stay in the B&B Hotel on the main road out of St Malo 10 mins from the ferry. Gated parking so keep bike fully loaded for an early start on the first day of my trip. It does add to the cost though.
@BeanieBiker_AutisticRider Жыл бұрын
@@neilhutton1528 I am too cheap for hotels, free standing tent on the side of a road lol when I hit France I just want to tank it down to where I am going, I know when I go to the Pyrenees, the first night I will head out of St. Malo and just find a field or something, probably just sleep in my sleeping bag inside a bivvi bag like I normally do, as campsites are closed by the time the boat gets in.

Not sure why you decided to stay so far away from the sites you were visiting? I have been visiting this area since the late 80's and the amount of things to see has expanded considerably .Arromanches-les-Bains is is now difficult since the Commune started charging and not allowing parking in the streets, 'ok on a bike of course. But you can't do the landing areas justice in 2 days!
