Love those glass chimneys, I use oven cleaner on oil lantern founts to get the old congealed kerosene out.

I love these glass heaters nice to look at, nice restoration work. I purchased a perfection heater $25 and it was very rusted, took me a while to get it open without damaging it. I've soaked it Evapo-rust and it worked great. Wire wheeled and sos pads cleaned up chrome pretty good. Now I have to order wick and seal up rust pin hole in tank. Thanks for sharing.

Very Nice!! I love the colors! So much nicer than all the black ones I see.

I wanted to keep this as "original" as possible so I didn't do much to the tan section which I believe is porcelain. I plan to do a short video on how I got the shiny/chrome finish on the bottom sections.

I have a Perfection heater model160-c according to the book is one of the first ones, being the 100 series. I found it in Crestline, CA next to a cabin that was cleaned out by the owner and he set out for trash pick up. When I saw that I grabbed it immediately. That was in 2005. I just got around to restoring it. It's complete and in good shape except it's dirty and stuck everywhere. This ought to be fun. You did a good job on yours. .

My heater 160 also has silver feet. The book says that is nickel plating.

What did you use to shine the nickel plated parts?

I actually found/used a spray paint that that give a great finish....at least for the parts that do not get exposed to high heat.
