Great build brother and love all the detail. One great tip for ya would be to use anti-seize or what I like better is some cold grease between the pulleys and drive shafts and also between the swedge-lock bushing and pulleys. The swege-lock bushing will not and should not go in all the way flush to the pulley. I personally don't like using thread lock for the set screws and even put cold grease before installing them. I'm currently building a second set up using the Duromax 720 so that I can run them in parallel to get 17 GPM to run a custom built 42" surface washer. Never forget your only making money when the trigger is pulled. Thanks again! John D LykeNew Power Wash Salina Kansas Location

Good video and very informative Quick question, what store did you got the pulleys and bushings
@MannyWashes2 жыл бұрын
Russ Johnson at Southside Equipment. His info is in the pin comment and description on both videos. Their type is 3VX 4 groove. They're a 2.06 ratio but the optimum ratio for this engine and pump is 2.29. the 2.06 is optimum for the Honda GX690 engine because it has a max RPM of 3600 and the predator is 4000 RPM max. So with this 2.06 ratio that I have, in order to reach the pump's max RPM of 1750 I have to have the engine throttled down to 3605 RPM and not at it's maximum.

How much did you pay for the pulley and bushings and belt? Can you please give me a link if you can? Thank you buddy I appreciate it
@MannyWashes2 жыл бұрын
@@timothyblaze4556 I bought them from russ Johnson his informations is in the description and pin comment on both videos. You can get the belt cheaper online. In the first video I believe I showed the belt part number printed on the belt. Russ sent me a excel sheet through email with the pricing. On the sheet it says the pricing is good for 60 days which I'm pass that so the prices might be different. You can ask him through phone call or email for updated pricing but this is what I paid: Part-Description-Price 4-3V6.90-Pump Pulley-$57.40 SK24-Pump Pulley Bushing-$28.20. 24mm 4-3V3.35-Engine Pulley-$48.19 SH1-Engine Pulley Bushing-$13.65. 1" 3VX435-4-Belt-$42.95

I have a 670 predator that i got for a great price. How much were all the parts to make this build minus the engine
@@MannyWashes thanks for the link…did you get the K7 unloader? Is it worth the upgrade?
@MannyWashes10 ай бұрын
I had upgraded to a different 1/2" unloader back then. The k7 isn't a bad unloader, it'll add longevity to your hose and gun because it doesn't keep pressure in the hose when you release the trigger.

Did they send you instructions with? mine came with none and I called and they told me they dont send instructions

No. I kinda referenced the other belt drive videos but they weren't too much help. That's the whole reason why I made the videos and the reason why they're so long. Part 1 is the build. Watch it first because there was some mistake I learned along the way and fixed. There's also another video I did about adding weep holes in the belt housing which I believe is the last upload. Does Russ sell the engine skid base and the pulley and belt shield?
@MannyWashes Жыл бұрын
Pretty much everything you see except the engine, the drain hoses and the Honda fuel pump. But since he builds Honda pressure washers he has the pulleys rationed for the Honda GX690 3600 RPM and GP TSF 2021 1750 RPM. The predator 670 maxes at 4000 RPM so it needs to be throttled down a little (3605rpm exactly) to not go over the 1750 RPM of the pump. The pulleys also have a bushing if you've seen the part one, it's what actually attaches to the shaft of the engine and pump. A couple of things I've done since and may post a little video is paint the mounting plate for the pump and the angle plate that is part of the tensioning bolt. After the first rain or two they started to surface rust pretty bad, the black coating they have isn't sufficient. I added marine grease in between both plates and where it contacts the skid plate. Also I drill three 3/16" holes(weep hole) on that pulley house lip (not the cover for it) opposite side of the holes that mount the housing to the skid plate. I could see where a little water pooled there after some heavy rains and kinda drained out the side a little but I can tell it mostly evaporated in the housing. I had recently drilled 1/8" and didn't see any standing water after a recent rain but I found that weep holes for house siding shouldn't be less than 3/16" so I sized up the holes last week I think.

Also look at the other comments just in case there may be some other information you may want to know. I know one has info about the pulley ratios.

Shorten that fuel line.
@MannyWashes Жыл бұрын
Yeah I shortened it once I mounted them on the trailer. It didn't make a difference but it's fine now. When the tank would balloon from the heat it forced the air outside of the filter so the filter is full of gas now.

@MannyWashes Жыл бұрын
@@jwp1180 I have no control over the commercials. And I made this to be detailed as possible because the other two or three videos didn't have enough information. You're only 2 of thousands that have view that have brought up length. But the information may also help someone on engine select because the predator does sometimes need tinkering to get it just right. Now it confidential runs.

What experience do you have with the pred motor?
@MannyWashes Жыл бұрын
@@benwhite3017 oh let me tell you. It's been a little roller coaster. I think the Honda fuel pump I installed failed on me but it may have been the hose so I'm not completely giving up on it. I put the original fuel pump back in and it wasn't sucking fuel better until after cutting and clamping the fuel hose, it started sucking fuel better. I did away with the spring clamps on the fuel line and put the adjustable clamp on aka worm screw clamps. That made the fuel level in the filter better. I also was having trouble starting it but then it click that the motor has a low oil pressure sensor. The dipstick it comes with is very hard to tell what the oil level is even after I added the cross hatching to the dipstick with a knife to try to get the oil to stay in place with surface tension long enough to read, especially with new or barely used oil. It's hard to tell if there is a oil leak or I didn't fill it high enough because it's hard to read the dipstick but I'm keeping an eye on that oil drain hose I added where it connect to the motor. I would recommend the drainzit hose or a better made one than the one I bought from power wash. That elbow fitting that goes into the motor doesn't seem that secure and if I wanted to take it off I would have to unbolt the skid from the trailer then unbolt the motor as well as everything in the belt housing. So I'd recommend something that screws in straight like a drainzit hose. So far it runs and sounds great. The predators are know for their lack of sucking up fuel but I believe using the adjustable clamp has helped provide a better seal on the fuel line. I didn't see any signs of fuel leakage earlier today when I looked. The oil level is at a good level with no signs of leaks and I don't have a problem starting it now. The motor definitely has enough power to work with the GP TSF2021.
@MannyWashes Жыл бұрын
@@benwhite3017 also if you look on a new video I added a 6" a/c 90° elbow over the exhaust to divert the exhaust upwards until I made or purchase one to go on the outlet port but this will work for now. I do expect the exhaust output to eventually degraded it and make a hole in it but we'll see how long it last. The 90° elbow is adjustable so it can be made straight, 45°, 90° or an offset(I think). It does have oil in the gooves so after installing the heat of the exhaust will burn that oil off and smoke.
