I was Britney, in that I also was everyones doormat. I allowed it until my 50th year, when I discovered what boundaries were. BIG ones. I will never, ever be in a co dependent situation again. 😊 I am no one's doormat. My circle has gotten A LOT smaller, but I'm so much happier now, in my 60th year.

Same here too, y'all! I used to be such a people-pleaser. It is literally insane, looking back, how giving and forgiving and allowing I was. When I turned 50 about 18 months ago, something shifted. I drew the curtains and locked the doors so to speak. Big, huge, enormous boundaries emerged that I never had before -- that no one ever taught me to have. Welp, I have them now, by the grace of God and menopuase! The me I am now, would NEVER take one-one-thousandths of the crap I endured in the past. It's a bummer in one sense, because I am divorced and I can't imagine ever falling in love again. In another way it's been so liberating and empowering!

This is a very interesting, and seemingly _honest_ book. lt is nothing like ''Worthy'', or Spare. l was never a huge Britney fan, or follower but was there when all this happened. This chapter really pulled at my heart. l feel genuine empathy for Britney , as l know some of the things she is going through. Being alone with NO shepherding, mentoring, without being discipled. Having mental health issues but not really knowing it, not dealing with _extremely important_ trauma: like the abortion, and Justin's cruelty. l pray that Britney will be found by Christ, and know she has eternal life, and l pray that the realization would so turn her sadness into JOY, and Gladness! MERRY CHRISTMAS Everybody! :D

Merry Christmas to you, your family, and each who gathers here to hear your review. It’s a treat! I have so much sympathy for this poor naive, child like woman. She has been so badly used by so many people but still looks for good in people. Much of her career seems based on much that seems like child porn and. Fantasies of child porn. It’s pervasive in our popular culture and to me, needs to be recognized for just what it is. It’s destructive to girls. Love your comments!

I am loving this episode. I feel for Brittany. Your comments are so spot on about her naivete and how women's beauty affects men... No one told me that when I was younger and now I try to tell my teenage girls something about this. You're giving me some words for this. Men are disarmed by women's beauty and women can be disarmed by men's reactions to them. Your commentary is entertaining and enlightening. You have a Merry Christmas Cheere Denise. Thanks for the book readings and commentaries and all the work it takes to make a video. The saddest part so far is Brittany and the abortion. It is so sad the Brittany did not have a real Christian adult in her life, starting when she was very young.
@dianeshelton959211 ай бұрын
Are you assuming only a Christian could have helped Brittany ? Because you are very wrong. What a shame Brittany didn’t have an adult to care about her.
@patriciasaienni741711 ай бұрын
Well, look at the results of the lack of any real Christian adults in her life thus far. The fact that she's been advised and influenced by nothing but non Christian adults around her and it's indisputable that it's led her down a path of suffering, misery, heartache, and regret. So, the non Christian adults have failed her miserably. Why would YOU assume that a real Christian adult wouldn't be exactly the help that she needed most? Real Christians prioritize the Word of God first and foremost and would give guidance to Britney according to what is best for Britney. Real Christians answer to God for their actions, not to some Sleazeball corporations who are out to exploit this child so THEY can all get rich by working that child to death, and sexualizing a 15 year old girl for their profit. A real Christian adult would have never stood by while she lay on her bathroom floor in excruciating pain throughout a traumatizing abortion while her selfish narcissistic abusive boyfriend played with his guitar! My impression is that you have misunderstood the motives of true Christianity. For those who love God, the Father, Son & Holy Spirit, it's always about doing what's in the best interest of others. Britney was surrounded by adults who had their own interests in mind, certainly not hers. I hope that helps you with a better understanding of the love that Christians have for others, especially those who are vulnerable. ❤ Merry Christmas to everyone watching!

It’s just so heartbreaking how lost Britney has been her whole life. Britney you are worthy sweetheart, I just want to hug her, the little list girl in her. Yes, she is a women now, a mother, however, she has never felt true love. Excellent perspective on the parenting skills of this girl Britney Spears and I look at that is almost child. Abuse, it is child abuse. My daughter always wanted to be a singer but when she was 15 she was so shy she just couldn’t do it and then when she was 17 she was in this play and she got a standing ovation and she felt sick to her stomach for two weeks and look at what that girl has gone through and and the terrible guidance and the way you shared your perspective, your ethics and values I’ve never been in a book club and I used to be a part of Oprah’s book club back in the day which to me now is just not acceptable. I’ll just leave it at that. Really looking forward to chapter 3.

Why am I asking myself if this amount of introspection could really be coming from Brittany, as opposed to another person; say, a "ghostwriter"? I don't know what writing a book is all about, but this seems very well put together. I guess I'm just used to seeing "articles" about this woman in the Daily Mail, looking manic and disheveled, as she poses for what are meant to be provocative pictures and/or dancing in her home. There's an awful lot of unexpected lucidity here. I hope you have a beautiful Christmas.

Your opinion about beauty is very insightful. I think you are right. Once the hosts, mainly men, talk down to a woman is difficult to come up gracefully as they will carry on making the woman feel like less than. No every one is Scarlet Johansson. That one time

I was never a fan of Britney's music, I'm just enough older than her it wasn't what I listened to. I remember seeing her everywhere though, but she didn't bug me the same way some celebrities do. It's as you said she never had that diva like personality she always came across so immature to me. I feel bad for her, she is the result of having absolutely terrible parenting. The way so many people took advantage of her, used her for their own wealth is just disgusting. These people do not care what happens to someone like Britney. She obviously had mental issues and they just kept using her. I remember watching Britney going through her mental break and being so angry at people for not helping her. She was clearly mentally ill, and people just kept going after her. She's had a very sad life, and all on display. So many people failed her.

The sad part is that Britney actually needed a conservator. A carer, someone who could take care of her. Instead, her dad abused this power and stripped her of whatever self worth was left after everyone tore her to pieces. And you can see it now, she is definitely not doing very well on her own. My heart hurts for her, she was only seen as a cash cow and a sex symbol and was never given the chance to be more than that. She still doesn’t know who she is nor does she have a grip on reality today, she is stuck in her head thinking the same as she did in her youth

I’ve heard many actresses and actors state they became and lived their character. I don’t think that is so uncommon. It is uncommon when the movie is over ,done and released and still can not let go. Poor girl did not seem to be aware of her true self , always searching. I know I started to really step into my own late 20’s to mid 30’s. Perhaps there was something inside her that longed to be that young innocent girl, someone different than who she was. I give her alot of credit . Her hindsight for self seems accurate. She seems to be as honest as she’s capable. I find it concerning how she does not recognize the sexualization of herself as a young girl BECAUSE SHE WAS A VERY YOUNG GIRL. That’s the sickness of Hollywood and the influence. Britney Spears is not the first nor Last . I REMEBER when her video came out of her in the school girl outfit . My jaw dropped to see such a young girl dress in a manner that is many men’s sexual Fantasy, the school girl costume. As a parent of 3 daughters I WOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED THAT

Thank you so much for your words of wisdom regarding terminating the life of an unborn person. It's disturbing how hard certain groups of people work to make it seem normal, simple, no big deal, like getting a tooth pulled. Inconvenient to be pregnant, the consequences of having sex which you chose to do with someone you weren't planning on having children with, or at least not now because you've got that vacation planned or a semester left in school or just got that job you wanted? Just get the procedure! It means nothing, it's just a heavy period! It's not a *real* person, just an inconvenience. And no matter how hard they try to believe this, they never forget. It pops up years later with a passing unexpected thought of "she would be starting kindergarten this year" or "i might have been signing him up for soccer". I wonder what she would have looked like? Would he have had his father's nose? Etc etc etc. Because each time it's a real human being. One you would have loved just as much as you love your living children now. That hole is never filled. That nagging feeling of "someone is missing" never goes away, no matter how hard you try to silence it with substances, relationships, more degrees, more money, more accomplishments. It's devastating that we as a society aren't even honest about what's happening. If it doesn't matter & it's just a blob of nothing, why are they pushing so hard to keep women from hearing both sides, considering all options?

I think it's both men and women interviewers, seeing the whole package. Smart, talented, beautiful, kind, personable, and rich AF. They've known each other since kids, he's young, and has a career to think of too. But hearing it now, he should have treated her better, because if their history from childhood. He just used her for his own gain. Hope he's reached out, and apologised after this.

I've seen several interviews with Britney's personal assistant Felicia & keeping her on for so long in that capacity was Britney's biggest mistake. (Imo) Felicia was simply a family friend. She had absolutely no experience of any kind with anything. To Felicia, everything was just a lot of fun & whatever Britney said & did was fine by her. I'm actually amazed that Britney handled her fame as well as she did. She really was navigating it all by herself.

I remember watching a Britney documentary on YT where Miss Fe said that she was the one who opened Britney's bedroom door to see exactly what this photographer was doing. She was horrified and demanded Britney put on a t-shirt and jeans, but was told things were fine and as Fe wasn't Britneys mother what right did she have over the mother, who was the one who wasn't phased! Judging by how Fe recalled the story I belive that was the true version and Britney either misremembered it, or more probably that she wished it had been her mother looking out for her in the way the mere family friend had⁉️ I'm no psychologist, but I do know traumatised kids minds fracture in order to protect themselves. ❤

@@cheeredenise Also it's extremely common of child "stars" to suffer D. I. D (disassociative identity disorder) caused by sexualisation and /or SA as a minor. As I said earlier the mind fractures to compartmentalise past traumas, and new "characters" and identities (some a different sex, even foreign). A-typical of what's known as MK-Ultra, the blueprint is the same. This is why so many child stars seem to go off the rails, often recorded by media talking in different accents and generally, and very sadly have very public meltdowns, (Amanda Bynes, Jeanette McCurdy,Justin Beiber, Judy Garland etc and of course Britney!) I went down a massive rabbit hole on both MK-Ultra and the whole child star link some years ago, when stuff on YT wasn't so censored but for me it explains everything thus far. These woman only associate with their stage performance, when out of that environment they are lost, tortured souls forever seeking validation from the world! 😪❤️

I’m feeling on point regarding how badly Britney was used and abused by many. It’s no wonder she lost control on occasion! I’ve always admired her and felt sorry for her all at the same time.

I love your take on various books. This kind of critical and thoughtful reading should be taught to people, not just consuming given information. Merry Christmas!

Wow. Bless Britney’s heart, praying for her and her kids. Blessings to you and your family as well. What kind of man writes sexually suggestive songs for teenage girls to sing? A perv does.

I remember the rolling stones photos. I wasn't much older than britney spears myself & thought the photo shoot was sick & weird.

Part way through your reading you use the word degradation and it was exactly the word I was looking for as I listened, it’s unbelievable how her parents didn’t object to her being sexually objectified at such a young age.

I do believe Britney needed and still needs some form of help, but she didn't get that, what she got was worse than a prison sentence because at least a prison sentence has an end.

Speaking of males being attracted to her sexuality - fun story. When her first hit came out I was nannying on the side while getting my second degree as a mature age student in my 40s, trying to pay for it. I cared for mainly doctors and psychiatrists kids probably because of my background as a paediatric nurse and mother of 4. One of my first charges who I started to care for at 6 weeks old I called Baby Tim. He would have sat in front of the TV watching Brittany perform that damn song all day if he could. He was in nappies and absolutely entranced by her. My subconscious has saved me from remembering the name of the song.
