Lamb Shanks On The Stove Top | Perima's Kitchen Recipe!
Ingredients:
Lamb shanks ( 1-1.5kg)
Season shanks with salt & pepper, then sear in hot oil.
To the same oil, add heaped 1tbs butter, chopped onions (3), garlic cloves & carrots
1 to 2 heaped tbs all purpose flour
Add bay leaves, rosemary & thyme
Add 1.5 tbs tomato sauce
Boiling water or broth ( 300ml)
2/3 grated or liquidised tomato
1 tsp sugar
Salt
Red wine or red grape juice ( 350-500ml)
Oven at 180deg Celsius for 2hours
Stove top on medium heat for 1 - 1: 30 hour with your lid closed, then open : flip your lamb shanks over & leave the lid open for another 30mins to an hour so the gravy can thicken.
Once tender, it’s ready to serve
