the j-mod is awesome. i did that to a 98 mustang gt auto several years ago. easy to do and really noticable effects. i did that with a 3.73 gear and it would bark second and kick the rear end out some . made it actually fun to drive.

Before I did the 5 speed, I did jmod and it was an amazing difference! Actually gave me better throttle response on top of firmer shifts. Also to be more cost-effective If you are not using the altinator pulley then go with 3V 4.6 Summit U/D kit. SUM-C2512 $143.97. The Summit Racing underdrive pulleys are great quality and, I've had them on my car for 4 years and never had any issues! 😉 Great video!!

I agree with all of these suggestions, except for lowering the Crown Vic. I like Crown Vics because they are almost like SUV's in that they can go over a curb no problem and can handle off roading fairly well for a CAR. A higher vehicle also means its going to get less rust and wear and tear on the bottom of it in comparison to a low riding vehicle. A low riding vehicle is also a pain when going over speed bumps....even at a slow speed.

Height of a vehicle holds absolutely no bearing on how a vehicle rusts..a lifted truck will rust just as fast as a lowered car if neither are cared for..it sounds like you want a worry free opportunity to beat your car up and that does not exist

Some crownvics were actually taller from factory depending on department and area of vehicles destination. Some areas require more ground clearance. And when police go over curbs they don’t wanna bust off their oil pan haha

Had a New Mexico detective & a CHP Crown Vic the New Mexico was taller but the CHP was pretty low. Definitely can see why the CHP was low for high speed chases. Would suggest building a aluminum flat floor if you go lower

The CVPIs actually had HIGHER ride heights to give them more ground clearance. So, lowering springs will definitely improve handling in these cars.

It needs to be noted that 05' and up owners have no need for the Jmod. The internal upgrades Ford made are already in place. When my 4R75W was rebuilt and upgraded, it was simply re-tuned on the dyno. And with an SCT tuner you can still make trans adjustments.

Proper lowering is a 2 inch spindle drop kits. This way full suspension travel is not compromised as it would be with lowering springs

I have a 03 and an 05 CVPI bone stock, The 05 is about an inch or two higher and does not have the traction lock differential. I wonder if the CVPI is normally lower than the civi version. In other words maybe the lack of the traction loc diff gets a different suspension height? I was very disappointed when I saw only one tire spin on the 05 thought the diff was messed up. After researching the Axle codes a bit I discovered it came with a standard 8.8 differential. It's a project car so I'll have to hit the junkyard or search to see if it can be upgraded. Moose Chocolate I actually own 3 CVPI. I have a 99 all stock. A 03 I lifted did a 4x4 swap on it with a nice set of 18x9 Havok Off-road H-109 wheels that I use for mudding and I have my o7 with a 6-speed coyote swap in it which of course is the one I want to lower that's the last thing I need to do to it before I get it off to paint.

NO, those smaller pulleys will NOT "give your engine horsepower" -- but what they WILL do is reduce rotating weight and reduce pumping losses, which allows more of the engine's power to reach the rear wheels.

underdrive pulleys just allow the motor to rev faster. you dont really GAIN hp you just free up hp to the wheels.

This is not 100% correct..you only have a piece of the puzzle here..most aftermarket pulleys are lighter than factory pulleys this freeing up rotational weight allowing the crank to spin faster with less drag thus freeing more usable power

None of these mods by themselves is going to make a difference. But the right combination of several mods. Such as a MZT and 2.5 exhaust along with the underdrive pulleys will give you a noticeable gain.
