Even as he drowned in the water, Fogg thought first of Aouda. A funny and touching scene when the two were thrown overboard! As for Fix, didn't he think that if Fogg really was the bank robber, it would make sense for him to take the bag of money with him if he wanted to escape, instead of leaving it with Passepartout? What kind of detective is he if he doesn't think at least a little? It is a mystery whether he did not, for a moment, suspect that Fogg might be innocent.
