i do alot of mold work at my job, we use hot glue to seal our mold walls down. it cools very fast, very little wait time before casting.

+C amber you and me both! if it works out well, I can think of a whole bunch of stuff that I can make with this product!

Joe, Very interesting. When you do your testing, perfect your process, and are happy with the wheel I would be interested in buying a 5" wheel to tryout if you ever get to the point you make any to sell.

Hot glue works much faster than caulking to seal up the mold. Also, try a product called "Pol-Ease" from Tap Plastics for a really good mold release.

Are those wheel working properly ?

You should cast a wheel that just holds a 2x72 belt snugly and do really flat hollow grinds....

Better than caulking, is. Sulphur free plasticine, or modelling clay. It has to be sulphur free as sulphur will cause the rubber to not cure right.

How it grips ?

Hi this will probably require about a full week to cure properly, Vaseline rubbed well in will act as a release agent and get it sealed down well onto the base, NO leaks required. A fantastic effort for your first attempt. Regards the air contaminating the bottle I would have thought this was not true. After all wouldn't the manufacturers tell you clearly about this. Also would it not be better to come in a container with a valve one way non return for air, if this were indeed the case. It is true once you open the bottle it's life will be slightly impaired and it would be better to use it quite soon over a few months perhaps but not immediately . What will be serious though with regards it's longevity would be returning and unused liquid back in the bottle WITH OR WITHOUT CATALYST APPLIED. have fun Alistair in Scotland

So there was never a part 4 showing the finished wheel? Did you machine the outside of the urethane so it is round and true?
@joecalton14497 жыл бұрын
I did put it back on the lathe and clean it up afterwards, in this video, about hallway through, you can see it on the grinder kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqfWZ3uKbLuhaa8

interesting but was there ever a follow-up to this?

I want to say that I ran that wheel with the rubber on it for a year or so, and then ended up taking it off and just run the bare aluminum wheel now with thicker belts like 36-60 grit blaze, and the trizact belts.

Try hot glue for your seal.
