Part 3 Mercury Outboard controls installation - control box,, shift & throttle & electrical cables

Installing Mercury controls on my 1971 Hobo houseboat, as part of my re-powering from an older Evinrude 2 stroke to a somewhat newer Mercury 4 stroke.

Thank you sir for the great video. when I go from neutral to forward, I have to move the throttle a good ways to get any increase in RPMs and then theres only a little bit of travel left to tune at higher RPMs. How to increase the throttle response? what adjustment can i make? TIA

Very hard to say. Remove the motor cover, have someone move the control handle forward and watch if the motor end of the cable moves in exact correspondence. If not, then the problem is likely in the control box. If that is OK then watch the throttle lever(s) on the carb or throttle body and each for play between the cable and the linkages.
