According to the epistle of Barnabas, Paul's travelling companion, which was at one time part of the canon, the early church met on Sunday to celebrate Jesus' resurrection. They called the first day of the week, "The Lord's Day" and this is why there are references to the first day in the New Testament. They met very early in the morning and afterwards they went to work as usual. This day was not intended to replace the Sabbath which was and is the designated day of physical rest which as Paul taught was a foreshadow of the rest we have in Christ. If we are not resting in Jesus for our salvation, then we are not keeping the spiritual Sabbath which is the most important. There was more than one Sabbath in the Old Testament and one is referred to as the eighth day. The apostles recognized the significance of the eighth day and related it to Jesus' resurrection.

@@xboxice2005 According to the historical record and Barnabas' testimony the early church met on Sunday to honor the Lord's resurrection and they called it the Lord's Day (Rev. 1:10). It's important for you to understand that this day was not intended to replace the Seventh Day Sabbath, it was in addition to the established day of rest. It's also important to understand that originally, attending church services on Saturday was not the purpose of the Sabbath, it's purpose was physical rest. People were told by God to stay in their tents (Exodus 16:29,30). That rest in turn was a foreshadow of the rest we have in Jesus. I rest on the Sabbath and our house church meets on Sunday for communion.

However It was Constantine who took the first and all important step!. This enables us to discount it as being the true Christian congregation! Factual history reveals that only ONE year after Nicea, He had his son Crispus executed! then He murdered his second wife Fausta in a steam bath. It goes on! He also used the name & imagery of Christ as a 'talisman' as he fought bloody carnal battles ( Malvern bridge 312AD) e.t.c! He also caused the compromise of the church 'bishops' by appointing them as representatives of the state to enable more control of his kingdom! He altered the 'Sabbath' as an insult to the Jews and blasphemed the name of Christ by announcing that his 'birth was on December 25th' to allign with 'Saternalia'! Throughout history, every year since then Christ has been associated with a pagan god Saturn'. And some actually 'pray' to this man who has been made a 'saint' by the cathlic church

Indeed, Constantine would be the first in a long line of "thinking to change times and laws". He would take pagan holidays and make them "christian" and take the venerable day of the sun and change the sabbath of creation to sunday. He has misled millions of christians through this one change of worship days. The one institution at creation, at our very beginning, was the one he would change and thus forever divide christians on dogmas from then on. I have friends who say it doesn't matter what day you worship, but i would say not one word of God was less than absolute. He said, not one jot or one tittle would pass, and on that every christian stakes their eternal salvation.

I would say he misled billions because it was generations upon generations that passed down these pagan beliefs and holidays coated in Christianity to their children and to their children's children and so on. But moving on from that remember in the video when he talked about the meeting in Niscia in 325 AD? At that same meeting is the first time the trinity doctrine was formulated among the senate, and again it was enforced by state power.

The real question here that this question follows is this. Is is a Sin to break God's commandments, even if it is just one of them? And also when did God say that state rule should determine HIS LAW? Please remember that you are part of generations upon generations of deceit. Of course since your whole family believes in sunday then so would you. But then you have to ask yourself the reason why you don't have the motivation to find out if it is true or not, but prefer to safely follow supposed norms? Nonsense. Constantine did not bring the union of Church and state. Each one had their sphere of influence as the Emperor protected the people and the Church prayed for the ruler and spread Christianity. It was like this throughout the Medieval period. The first to combine church and state was King Henry VIII of the Anglican Church and Calvin in Switzerland. Let us not forget the Lutheran Church of Sweden whose king was not only the head of state but the head of the religion.
