PART 4: Casting Clone Trooper Helmets!

We finally get to casting the helmets! I’m happy with how they turned out! As requested, here is a list of everything I used for the entire process!
- Smooth-On materials (Gallon Rebound 25, Gallon Free Form Air, Gallon Smooth Cast 57D, Pint Thi-vex, Can of Ease Release 200) for making molds
- 8 Bolts, 8 wing nuts, 16 washers for securing hard shell
- Baby Powder for removing mold/casts
- 20 pins for securing keys on mold
- Plastic Egg Carton/ Sauce treys for key making
- Cheap and disposable brushes for applying silicone
- Disposable Gloves for protection
- At least 6 wooden paint mixing sticks and 6 cups for mixing materials (separately first then together)
- Having a Dremel/Drill will help create holes to attach bolts

Thank you for posting the grocery list. Great last video. You could put a dye on your next round as you mix. Make sure you mix it in part and then you always have a certain color.

Great comment! As I finish these helmets I’m required to spray a dark paint to keep light from passing through the material. A dye would help prevent light passing through

Just a quick suggestion, but maybe if you put some fiberglass strips in layers on the outside of the mold, it might preserve their life and keep it together a bit more. Love the helmets bro! 🤜🤛

It would be cool if he made a clone commando helmet that’s black with gold accents. Especially if the gold looks like it’s just underneath the black and is showing form weathering on the helmet or something like that. Idk just a random idea.
