Sorry about that, will make note of this for next time. Aside from the music, I hope you got some value from the content itself. Have a great day!

Yes, found value and this is a good summary. I used to understand these concepts in more depth, but memory fades when you don't do this for a living. I'd like to relearn the details. I will put this series to use when I'm ready to upgrade my system. Thanks again for these lessons Tony!

Loved the video, Tony! I really like how Grandstream manages their firewall rules. Such a simple and straightforward, yet powerful approach.

Thanks for watching Frank. I agree, the firewall is so mole, yet powerful. I would like to see the ability to duplicate rules, use aliases or groups eventually added in future firmware releases. Have a great day.

Separation of networks is a great step forward in IT security. More home users should adopt the ideas you discuss in this video.

Thanks 🙏🏻 Jay. I guess the barrier that prevents home users from doing this is the lack of understanding or awareness of the importance. This is what inspired me to create this beginner series. Have a great day.

Excellent video Tony. I really like how you explain stuff, even things that might be considered more advanced, you are able to bring them down to earth. excellent job!

Firewall rules is yet another subject i need to fuether dive into. Thanks, as always for a great video.

Thx for watching Jeremy! The GS firewall is pretty straight forward. I hope GS evolves the firewall to include groups. For example, it would have been nice to put the three RFC1918 address ranges in a group, then only create the actual firewall rule once instead of three times. Hopefully, they will add this feature moving forward.

Same theory applies to all routers /gateways / firewalls. Thanks for sharing

Agree 💯. The only difference is how each manufacturer implements, but the concepts are the same across the board. Thanks for watching Alonzo. Have a good day!

Hi Tim! Thanks for watching! There are 3 more videos left in the series. I may do an 8th as a bonus. But first bow the final 3 videos are as follows. Part 5 - Bandwidth Limiting the Guest Network Part 6 - is about SSL Proxy Part 7 - Web Filtering Thanks again!

@@QuikTechSolutions I'm enjoying watching the series and hopefully it will give me some ideas for mine too. I've just heard this morning from my Grandstream contact and they are going to be sending me 5 - yes 5 unmanaged switches to review, so looking forward to that! I'm interested in those 3 videos you having coming up, so I will certainly be watching those. I did remember Wille Howe touched on SSL Proxy a while back so it will certainly be interesting to see your take on it. Keep up the good work! I'm so verging on the side of moving my own network over to Grandstream from UniFi so watch this space as once I finally decide I may well document that in a video series!

@MrTimTech2022 thanks Tim. I’ve pretty much decided to move to GS from Unifi after I finish the series. I also have thought about documenting the process as a video or series of videos, but I think it’s going to be difficult to do. We’ll see. Have a great day and thanks again for watching and supporting the channel.

@@QuikTechSolutions I like your thinking about the move over. It would be great to see but like you say some things can be difficult to document with whole networks being down whilst trying to position cameras etc. at the same time. You're welcome I certainly will keep supporting!

Blocking private addresses with alias can reduce the number of rules you need to create.
@QuikTechSolutions4 ай бұрын
Agree! Pfsense allows for use of an alias. Edgerouters allow for creation of groups. If such a feature exists in the GS firewall, I have yet to find it. Have a great day!
