It looks like your anti-cavitation plate sits about 2 inches below the bottom of the boat. I just bought a 8 hp Yamaha for my Zodiac 285 and mine sits about 2 inches too low as well. Does it cause any problems on your boat like excessive splashing at higher speed or problems getting on the plane?

It did tend to throw up a bit more splash. I have sold that motor and replaced it with a 6hp Suzuki 4 stroke. I have not had it on the water yet, but the reason was it is lighter and has a built-in fuel tank which allows more floor space.

@@Johkarphotos are you happy with the df6a? I just got mine....tested today speed.... 22km/h against light breeze....150kg + gear.... but hard to get on plane

Did the top speed go up or down?

did not change speed, just allowed it to plane at lower speed.

added the foil and what? Did it make a difference or was it a waste of time ? which one is it mate?

made a huge difference, keeps the bow down at slower speeds.
