I hope Capcom bring back Casey Edwards to work on DMC 6 if they have plans for one. His music perfectly represents the characters. Bury The Light for example, he really went out of his way to do Vergil’s character justice with that track.

I don’t think that I’ve ever seen Dan as flabbergasted as he was in Bury the Light. As the saying goes, if your music makes other musicians look disgusted, you made a masterpiece. I’ve never played DMC5, but Bury the light is one of my favorite pieces of music from any game ever.

I really love the fact that this game uses a lot of ideas from electronic dance music, given it's style of gameplay. It focuses really heavily on not just beating enemies, but doing it with the coolest and most stylish combos you can pull off, essentially dancing across the arenas, carrying enemies all over the place as you link together fancy combos, it's a brutal dance and the mix of metal/rock ideas and electronic dance ideas really lend themselves well to the gameplay. Also, your comment about the juxtaposition between an old analogue thing and a new techno thing is accurate! The main character of the series is starting to age, and a lot of the game and the ending in particular is about passing the torch to a younger character to continue their legacy, who notably uses weird technology to augment their fighting style in this game. Notably, the songs that each character has as their battle themes both are kept mostly within the style that represents them; Subhuman is the theme for the old MC and Devil Trigger is the one for the new MC!

Grilled Tandoori Smoke, Silent Siren, and Psycho Machine are all remixes of specific enemy themes from the first DMC back in 2001, which might explain why they all jump around between modern and classic electronic genres

Hey, I would really like to see you react to Portal 2's soundtrack because it is very interesting. Most of the songs use eletronic sounds and some even alarms and buzzers. Also, there is heavy use of leitmotifs throught the soundtrack, refering to multiple characters and scenes.

I cant wait for him to do Dark Souls 3 or Bloodborne. If you liked Elden Ring you'll LOVE those games' soundtracks. Dark Souls 3 has more sad and melancholic music, while Bloodborne has really disturbing and horrifying music. Regardless, loved the video. Couldn't make it to the stream unfortunately, but still loved it all the way through. It makes me happy that someone is going in depth about music theory and wanting new people to get into it. Btw Devil Trigger compared to Silver Bullet Devil Trigger is the main in game version. It plays in all battles with Nero in regular missions however Silver Bullet plays in the final battle with Vergil
