One of the best videos I have seen. No crappy music, a clear and concise description. Great voice!

Thankyou for the kind comments. After 30 years in construction i became aware that i was paying labourers to watch me cut straight. It became my passion thereafter to design a tool to teach the world to cut straight. It had to echo the professional's grip and the natural path of gravity and cutting downwards and not across the wood and show the user they can all do it!

To use the Studhawk saw guide on skirtings - simply clamp a bit of 2x2 to the board to create a running rail for the Studhawk to sit on. The Studhawk is also great for cutting plastic pipes and gutters. Thanks

The essence and concept of the Studhawk is that it's guide face is partially sacrificial. Depending on the bias of the users hand wear will occur at different rates. To periodically re-condition the Studhawk saw guide face- simply give the guide face a rub on a sheet of sand paper or a rub up on a flat paving slab

agreed however hinge sizes vary on the knuckle and such details can be down to client preference. Also a gap behind the hinge knuckle is less pleasing on the eye that the architrave butting up to the knuckle.
