I rode PBR'S out of Rac Soi with rpd 58 in 1970 as an advisor to the VNN. Your team was just down the road from our hooch. I have great respect for your team, your medic treated me for a bad spider bite and keep me from going to Saigon for treatment. He gave me a captured AK before he left. I used it on a few occasions to confuse the VC so we could get a few rounds on them before they figured it out. Lots of stories about your team, great to see we're still around.

The intelligence officer would send word that he wanted a prisoner live. It is very hard to take someone alive. I figured if I got killed it would be on one of those adventures.

Thank you for these videos. They're fascinating. Please keep em coming. Vietnam is different now but the Mekong delta still looks more or less the same. The locals believe the spirits of the dead haunt the battlefields. I wonder if your uncle or cousin have ever thought of coming back for a visit? That would be an amazing video (or a few). Cheers. -Mikael

A "CLICK" IS 1000 (ONE THOUSAND) METERS. A form of Metric Conversion in regards to a Specific type of measurement to Scale , specifically to Orientation on a MAP. Used prolifically in the Vietnam War.

I had an uncle that served in Vietnam as a seal. His stories were as dramatic as this man’s and yes he was a seal his son also was a seal so there’s no way either was lying. The stories can be crazy bc of the missions they carried out. They weren’t marines holed up inside fire bases.

You should stop all that crap and leave it up to the pros. You don't know enough to call out these men. Everybody want's to think they know everything these days.

@@VNExperience I spent a year in the infantry with the First Cavalry Division in 1969, in all different types of terrain. Jungle, river trails, rice paddies and all the rest. When I was in the field or on guard duty at an LZ, I never took my boots off. Come on, ever seen pungy stakes ?

@@larrylebowski8386 Thank you for serving and welcome home. 🙏 I have seen them in nearby in Cu Chi, which is now a museum. Not all SEALs walked barefoot but some evidently did. Others have written about this too. It's mentioned by Stephen Templin in 'SEAL Team Training 3: My SEAL Mentor': "Knepper’s squad of seven SEALs inserted into the island by boat under darkness-not even the moon shone. Never ones to take the easy way, 2nd Squad free-climbed a 350-foot cliff. After reaching the top, they lowered themselves into the VC camp. The seven-man squad split into two fire teams, taking off their boots and going barefoot to search for some high value targets (HVTs) to snatch. But the VC got the drop on Lieutenant (j.g.) Bob Kerrey’s fire team. A grenade landed at his feet and exploded, slamming him into the rocks and destroying the lower half of his leg." SEAL missions were different from search and destroy and, operating at night time, they avoided footpaths as much as possible. I'd be curious to know if they ever fell victim to enemy traps. Maybe they could clarify their decision making in a future video because you're bringing up an interesting point. I don't see any reason for the SEALs to be dishonest about it.

@@kengrimsley4172 How many SEAL’s have you talked to? How many SEAL’s do you personally know? These guys are different! They operated differently, especially during the Vietnam era. In the first place, this is my uncle, and while, obviously I wasn’t there to witness his deeds, I know some others that served with him and they tell me the same stories about him. You don’t have to believe it, I don’t care!!! I’ve known each individual, personally, for many years, that I have interviewed for this channel.
