The Zoe is a great car and very underated.It has an ace up it's sleeve with 22 kWh AC charging.The older ones had 43 kWh fast charging.When others are waiting for CCS,the Zoe can sneak a reasonable amount of juice out of little used slower chargers.
@JonathanPorterfield Жыл бұрын
True , that ac on board charger is great at 22kW charge rate. Im planning on stopping overnight in Perth where CPS have 22kw fast charge posts , ill charge up on one instead of a DC rapid 1st then finish off on a ac post like i normally do in my e niro. 😉

@@JonathanPorterfield can a Zoe Play 50kW charge using a 44kW AC charger?
@johnmcconville6055 Жыл бұрын
@@benesther99 I don't think so.The 50Kw ones without CCS can only do 22 kWh.Its the model s with 22 and 40 KW batteries and the continental motors that could take 43Kwh.

Glad you made it to your mums place Jonathan only just. Sitting here in Bulgaria in the snow watching your adventures. Very exciting and brings back memories of my trips around the country in Gen 1 Leaf's. Your Zoe seems much more advanced and accurate on the range. I remember on the leaf would show 7 miles range with 3 miles to go and then the Turtle would appear and come to a halt suddenly. I remember the trip to Belfast from Kingston in a 24kw Gen 1. Am planning to do a road trip from sunny Surry to Turkey in an EV. Just deciding which one to take. Maybe a Citroen Ami Especially as is LHD LOL 😂😂😂😂😂Good luck with the rest of your journey will try and follow. Bassett Allsorts

Mk 1 Cortina was my first car. Registration was 609DTR. I bought it from my Mum for £40, someone drove into the back of it shortly afterwards. Insurance Co wrote it off, gave me £110 for it, and let me keep it. I sold it to my cousin for £20. It’s the only time I ever made a profit on a car! Can’t remember where the washer button was though!

Nicely done JP. I’m also glad you couldn’t remember the name of the plonker with the Taycan - I do know the name, but he really needs no more publicity!

I had both a Mk1 and Mk2 Cortina and as far as I remember both had dashboard pumps for the washers but the early Zephyrs had floor pumps. Well done with the Zoe.

Our ID.3's first MoT was 9 months early! It was MoT'd before I bought it. I am keeping a record of everything done to the car and when including the fact that I have just replaced the wipers front and rear on it's third birthday. They were jumping a bit!

Hi lad's. Early Mini's had the manual windscreen washer pump in the dash rail. The Mk1 had the push start in the floor pan.

You should see batteries level (voltages) with CanZe. If the is high mV differece the cells might BE a problem. If you get a big drop in the end , last 10% may BE a problem. I had to make, pay, un update in my old Zoe to restore my range.

My first cars in the seventies had push pumps and if they got stiff then it was quite painful to work them. I never had a car with a foot operated pump but I’m pretty sure both my Ford Escort and Vauxhall Viva had switches for the dip/main beam switch down there just to the left of the clutch. I’m pretty sure my F reg Mini also had a manual pump button just under the speedometer. If we are going to reminisce though shall we talk of manual chokes that wouldn’t stay out?

[07:58] The Numti with the Porsche Taycan who got beaten to John O'Groats by a diesel was Geoff McMasters on the channel Geoff Buys Cars. I call it Geoff Lies About Cars. I called him out on his "challenge" to John O'Groats because his trip just doesn't make sense. Having seen others in less capable and rangey cars (like your good self Jonathan) do the trip I can't work out how he could possibly have taken so long to reach John O'Groats. I've called him out as a fraud. I once drove my 2015 24kwh Nissan Leaf to Leith from South London. If I extrapolated my economy and average mph for that trip of 437 miles each way then I could have done the 848 miles Land's End to John O'Groats trip in 28 hours. That's in a car that did an average of 106 miles per charge on that trip and charged at no faster than 44kw. The Taycan does 250+ miles per charge and fills up at 225kw+. So you're talking more than twice the distance per charge and five times the charging speed. I had to do eight charging stops in my Leaf for a total of 3 hours. The Taycan need do no more than three stops en route and would need a total of no more than 1 hour of charging. At an average speed on the road of 50mph plus one hour charging the Taycan should take less than 17 hours for the whole trip. In reality it's been done in less than 16 hours. So Geoff McMasters really is a total numti.

It's Lee McMaster, Geoff is the other chap in the diesel. My problem with Lee is he's trying to stir up conflict between ice and ev drivers for views and comments, great for his channel earnings but with no thought about the possible consequences.
