Mine's from 2021 and has just done a service (10k) , where a tyre had a serious fault needing replacement (future MOT fail advised). I needed to replace the battery in the spare fob a while ago, bought a £2 battery 2032 (for2). Great car, lots of snobby critics.

I got a Zoe same age as yours second-hand, on the infotainment screen the energy information screen was missing and the range after a full charge and hard reset (pressing the brake and accelerator peddle down) the range would be in the region of 185 miles I contacted Renault gave them the cars VIN number they knew that the car needed a software updates including a BMS update, I took the car to my local Renault dealer where they carried out the updates etc. This was done under warrantyNow the range has been restored to 240 miles.

It was reassuring to see how little maintenance other than routine servicing has been required on your 111,000 Zoe. My Zoe at 76,000 miles has just had its lower front ball joint replaced due to excessive play, which apart from routine servicing and tyres is the only thing that has needed replacing, although with the state of the local roads I'm not that surprised! Like you, no problems with the battery. I'm confident the battery will easily outlive the car.
@NickyB6210 ай бұрын
Your ballpoint issue probably caused by badly maintained roads. My daily car I use for work has suffered lots of suspension related issues due to shocking quality of Derbyshire/ Nottinghamshire roads. I had a ball joint snap clean in half on the A38 in Nottinghamshire after hitting a huge rainwater filled pothole.
@nickbull660310 ай бұрын
We have a ZE50 and a ZE40, the 40 is just approaching 100k and has had absolutely nothing done to it apart from the occasional (oops) service and the obligatory suspension work. Still works perfectly, still delivers pretty much the same range as the day we bought it. Great car

Our 9 year old ZOE is now on 60k and has an annual 'service' at Renault. It's had 2 coil springs because the roads are rubbish and 1 ball joint, other than than....nothing and it still has nearly 80 miles available.
@BrilliantStuff10 ай бұрын
I am impressed that your Zoe didn’t seem to need new lower ball joints since I was led to believe by other owners they are not of a wear and tear item due to not being beefy enough. Will be nice to see what yours looks like at the service. Thanks for the vid.

My 2016 LEAF 30kWh is still going strong. True, the battery SOH is down to ~78% after 75k miles but that still gives me 80 to 90 miles range which is more than my daily usage. Efficiency and driving experience are still the same as new. And I can get two full sized mountain bikes in the back with ample room for muddy gear and snacks.

Jon saw your comment on restoring some of the app functions, check if Renault have an online shop where you can buy additional years for various services (they all use the sim card so you're basically paying for extra data) that's how it works on BMW/Mini ICE/HEV/EVs, BMW often do a Black Friday deal on those too!

My 23 year old car went through MOT with no advisories. Had it 5 years. Each to their own, used BEVs are stacked already, values are being kept artificially high. Get all the life out of everything by learning how to look after it. I'd value a 5 year old low mileage BEV at £1500.
@computerbob0610 ай бұрын
Can I ask why?
@theodavies875410 ай бұрын
@@computerbob06 Of course. I can get a well made repairable traditional technology vehicle for £3000 or less.. A warranty is a framework around the exclusions. A single compartment failure not covered + insurance would wipe out any saving. It seems most modern ice cars have adopted designed in fails and obsolete parts Wet belt and sending water into the engine Ford.. Plastic cam chain tensioner is a good one. Obsolete ECU. Car makers are taking the piff and have been for the last 2 decades. Anything that says made in China may have a part number but that doesn't mean the part is available. Tesla have a 15v battery that doesn't last and costs more than a serviceable vehicle. I paid £4k for a Nissan x trail 2003 with 29k on miles 2 years ago. I'd be happy to throw another £1k at it every year but so far it's £80 for a battery and £60 for Aircon service. The 24 year old is an S type with 51k miles on. Paid £3k for it 5 years ago. It's also had a battery at £125 and £60 Aircon service. Price and value have been distorted beyond all logic by the aspirational tech industry.

Quite impressed with the stats on that little Zoe. My little shopping/ spare car is 21 yrs old early in 2024 & although only 48k miles the gearbox is getting noisy. Big problem for me if i went for a 2nd hand Zoe or any ev is i cannot charge at home also living rural where phone signals are hit n miss having to use a phone app for the car doesn't sound very comforting
@grahamcastle818910 ай бұрын
You dont need the app to charge the zoe you can manage all the charge settings from the infotainment screen plus you can charge it from a 13amp socket, it just takes a long time. I charge from a 13 amp socket when visiting my daughters and it's quite acceptable given the car is parked for 12 hours or more.
@malcolmfowler897210 ай бұрын
The phone app is more of a 'nice to have' optional extra. You can easily own a Zoe without ever using the app.
@NickyB6210 ай бұрын
@grahamcastle8189 Am unable to charge at home as it would mean trailing a cable across the road. It's only a narrow lane but still a public road. So would be tied to charging on public chargers while it's in use for shopping or a tip run. Using a larger ev for my daily commute definitely wouldn't work, but now the little old suzuki wagon is the ripe old age of almost 21 yrs old & showing signs of gearbox issues ahead will be looking to replace it. Zoe looks to be the part but battery bit worries me
