Oh I love the candy roll pin cushion idea, I think some pretty pink or a sage green , tiny tassles wrapped on the ends of the pin cushion ends would add such a lovely extra dimension made with silk thread, or embroidery thread❤❤❤❤

I love using walnut shells in pin cushions. I buy it in 25 lb boxes from a hardware shop. It is used for sand blasting. Much cheaper that way. I put a couple of cups in an air tight plastic container (like cottage cheese container) with some linen scented essential oil. After a couple of weeks the shells smell wonderful! The oil doesn’t seem to seep onto my fabric at all. I do put the shells in a muslin liner inside of the pin cushion. Pink is my color, so I live your needle roll! Awesome!

I am enjoying watching how you go about selecting and choosing fabric etc. tip re crushed walnut shells - I used them for weights in cloth dolls and always put them in the toe of pantyhose. I would cut off a piece mid foot, add the crushed shells and tie a good tight knot in the little ‘bag’. I have done this with pincushions too and have never had any leakage.

Thank you Corrine for your video, it was so nice to see the project from start to finish over one video. I love all the different ways these ,however you pronounce them come together. Could you stick your pins in the shell roll, or do they drop out when you actually roll it. I think it is so lovely to have your grandmas little spool, you will remember her with much love every time you use it. Really lovely project.
