I'm on my second ever bird and she's a savage mantler! I felt way out of my depth learning to deal with her, but I'm getting a handle on it. Videos like yours that include the clean and the messy aspects of the hunt really help.

Thanks so much for showing the good AND bad transfers. The importance of taking your time was a super key learning thing for me in this one. Like it sucks for the rabbit to be dispatched later but the difference it makes with Gisele was huge! Thank you again!

Nice work! I flew a passage gos 30 years ago. She never missed! She caught loads of cottontails, a number of jacks, and some pheasants. Only flew her one season, as I lost her prior to her first moult. I fly gyrs now, but that gos was one of my favorite birds. A friend of mine managed to catch wild prairie chickens with a Finnish goshawk, which was a lifelong dream of his. They are amazing if handled well. Love your videos.

I think you do a really good job,on transfers. Gos's are not the easiest birds to work with...

I love this series, great videos! I have a couple of questions. Do you still have/fly Ivan from your previous videos, and also would you consider this series goshawk specific or would you train all your accipiters the same way?
@jaguartrev15 жыл бұрын
RahlDynasty I don’t have Ivan anymore. I didn’t have enough time to fly him with work, Giselle and training the rehab Golden Eagles. I do think the training can apply to accipiters, hawks and eagles. Not necessarily every aspect but the general theories should still work.

What do you do with all those rabbits she catches? What is the point to catch them, but not her eat them?
@NMFalconry3 жыл бұрын
They are used as the tidbits and for her full meals every day.

Great video! Just curious, it's a little hard to see on camera, how bad was that grab?
@jaguartrev15 жыл бұрын
John Grove Thanks. The grab wasn’t bad. Couple of small punctures. She did that more out of annoyance and me being sloppy than her really trying to be possessive or aggressive, so it was more pop and a let go then it was a strong grab.

@@jaguartrev1 Thanks for the reply! Getting footed is one thing I rarely see in falconry videos. It's often mentioned but rarely shown. Cheers!

Здорово. Скажите как долго нужно воспитывать их??
@jaguartrev15 жыл бұрын
Амар Ахмадов если у меня есть ястреб с того времени, когда он был ребенком, это занимает первые 3 или 4 месяца. если у меня есть ястреб, которого я поймал в ловушку, они учатся намного быстрее.
